Love this key point from @ramez's recent TED Talk: "Clean energy technologies are technologies — and they drop in cost like technology. As they are scaled, they come down in price. Meanwhile, fossil fuels are commodities — and fossil fuel prices fluctuate over time."

France is on track for its highest level of nuclear generation for March since 2019, helping to support power markets across Europe bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

It’s sunny in New England and the wholesale price of electricity is negative. Alas, this doesn’t mean the grid will pay retail customers to use electricity…

A more apt analogy would be comparing those who refuse AI with those who resist corporate farming methods, which have decimated our food systems, displaced poor farmers, damaged our health, & destroyed our planet.

For anyone who still hasn't grasped why nuclear power plants are the stupidest idea imaginable: New nuclear power plants cost up to 49 cents per kilowatt-hour in Europe. Solar power costs between 3 and 6 cents. Thats 16 times more expensive electricity For those now dreaming of small power plants (SMR): SMRs produce five to 30 times more nuclear waste than large reactors, and nuclear waste is a massive cost driver. Professor Dr. Lesch calls the idea of using old nuclear waste as fuel "a wonderful fairy tale that has yet to come true anywhere in the world." For all now claiming storage is no cost driver take a look what Germany had to pay and all other countries with nuclear energy generation must pay for decommissioning and storing nuclear facilities and waste in the future:

BREAKING: The blackout in Spain and Portugal in April 2025 did NOT happen because of renewables. The final ENTSO-E report on last year's Iberian blackout is out — and it's essential reading for anyone working on the energy transition. entsoe.eu/news/2026/03/2…

''could have helped". Yeah so you oversize DC to AC and you are AC limited on the interconnection so any Q you give reduces the P you sell. You think PV farm owners already barely making money from the cannibalization will be crazy about this. 😂 If you need to get them paid then as always charge load more

China builds nuclear power plants in 5–7 years. South Korea does it in 6–8. Britain? Hinkley Point C began in 2016 and won’t be online until 2029–2031. That’s up to 15 years. This isn’t about capability. It’s about incentives, regulation, and political will. China & Korea build. Britain delays.

The surrealism of the Belgian nuclear exit explained (or not really) to the outside world. Supply, welfare and control of CO2 emissions put at risk for no reason. 🧵
