@Drimtry @ZelenskyyUa Putin endured eight years and offered to comply with the Minsk agreements so that Donbas would remain part of Ukraine. Zelensky only laughed in response. Putin proposed a peace treaty in April 2022. Zelensky broke off negotiations after Boris Johnson's visit.

I think the rounds of negotiations with the Russian side will resume. The question is in what format. Europeans are in favor of it being a joint track with the Americans. And everyone also supports the track we have proposed. I believe in a bilateral meeting. But it’s important that partners are present. Because there are many things Ukraine is counting on. Security guarantees after the end of the war. Membership in the European Union. We are giving the Russians the option to choose the format. One question about Russian mindset has been stuck in my head for a long time🇷🇺🤔 What the fuck was the Kremlin thinking? Seriously. Russia had trade with Europe. It was making money from oil and gas. It had influence. It had Crimea. It had Donbas under constant pressure. It wasn’t isolated. Then it launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Did they really believe Ukrainians wouldn’t fight? Did they really believe the West would just sit back and watch? Did they really think nuclear threats would make everyone surrender? Or did they simply believe that force always wins because that’s the only language they’ve known for generations? Whatever the answer is, this has turned into one of the biggest strategic miscalculations of the 21st century.
