Good Morning @uscourts We the People must know why you need an H1B for ANY position receiving taxpayer dollars! I am positive for 72.48/hour you can find an American citizen in or around DC for this position. Do you need my help to find one? This LCA carries a meaningful risk of displacing or preventing the hiring of an American worker: It is An H-1B-dependent staffing firm, placing a foreign worker at a U.S. federal government worksite, instead of the agency hiring an American directly or using a staffing partner with a stronger U.S. workforce. Because it is an Amended LCA, they do not have to even wait for its certification to place the employee so it is certainly a position that is already filled once they file the amended LCA. While the pay here is fair and the filing appears facially compliant, the structure itself (dependent employer + secondary government placement) is one of the higher-risk categories under current H-1B rules designed to protect U.S. workers.

1. Mass layoffs are not a game, this is thousands of your countrymen’s livelihoods being taken away. If Microsoft needs to cut workers they should do everything they can to find new jobs at the company for these people. It is a smack in the face to sponsor thousands of visas for other jobs while cutting jobs 2. Sure Asha is a U.S. citizen. Doesn’t excuse traitorous business practices of firing Americans while bringing in new immigrants to fill jobs 3. Microsoft gaming via their subsidiary Blizzard has been conducting hiring processes discriminating against US citizens this year- hiding ads in paper classifieds and asking for U.S. mail applications to their immigration department instead of recruiting Simple principle. Every job in the U.S. should be offered to an American FIRST.

They were not made to replace employees with foreign workers. • The H-1B figures being referenced are Microsoft-wide visa renewals and new hire applications. They are not specific to XBOX and represent a small percentage of Microsoft's overall workforce. And the majority of roles impacted were not American roles. • XBOX is the largest employer of American workers in the gaming industry and the largest American gaming company. • And Asha is an American born, raised, and educated CEO, from Wisconsin.

It's not that crazy. It's a pretty niche job. It's usually required for a librarian to have at least a MS in library science (a degree that, admittedly, I didn't even know existed until about a year ago). Neither of the guys who posted about this (@BillAckman nor @chrisbrunet) are qualified for that job and I seriously doubt they have a single librarian friend running in their hedge fund social groups. It's also worth noting, NYU didn't say notice of requirement, they said notice of intent. This really isn't that big of a deal guys...

Over night its overrun by low IQ criminals using all the facilities, fighting, raping and killing each other. The point is that Microsoft is carrying out mass layoffs while continuing to sponsor and renew H-1B visas. That’s what many people find objectionable. It’s also misleading to argue that H-1B workers make up only a small percentage of Microsoft’s workforce. Microsoft consistently ranks among the largest H-1B visa sponsors, filing thousands of H-1B petitions each year. The cumulative impact of that hiring has been significant, including noticeable demographic and cultural changes in surrounding communities. This isn’t a trivial issue, so it’s understandable why many Americans are upset. Microsoft has also been one of the biggest corporate advocates for expanding employment-based visa programs and continues to lobby for more visas while laying off workers. That’s why Americans are upset.
