I am not one for politics here! Although I am a very politically-minded person its largely a pointless endeavour, so I stick to the railways and Carlisle United! However, the idea the PM did not know that Mandelson had failed his vetting is utterly impossible to believe

The huge used car supermarket Cargiant is closing. I look forward to plans being put forward for 4,000 homes next to the future HS2 station at Old Oak Common - and NIMBY protests to protect the natural environment of a used car sales warehouse.

Great little article on the #NorthumberlandLine in the current edition of @RAIL. Everyone involved has lots to be proud of. I always enjoy the stories on board from customers who tell us how it is a genuinely life changing railway.

@Ogilvie_CJ We did 40 episodes of that! No fan of Calatrava's bombastic bravado here. Haven't looked at Mons but if it's anything like the rest of the overblown nonsense that design team represents, it's expensive style over usable infrastructure. Next.

📺 Did ‘The Architecture The Railways Built’ get another series @mrtimdunn ?! 🇧🇪 I’m at SNCB’s Mons station. This stunning bus/rail interchange at Mons worth a feature. A great example of modern architecture adding to the railway - and the wider city.

Slightly unusual cause, but RAIB's report into the Denbigh derailment was caused by a wrong path being implemented, subsequently not picked up by the signalling staff when the train arrived at the points...

@tim_hedleyj Loved that livery! Could have been awful but it was pretty well done in the end

Good to travel from Peterborough to Doncaster behind 91107. I remember the launch of it in February 2013 with its iconic Skyfall livery, one of the best. No sign of Naomie Harris today.

Cracking work this by @noahvickers14 at @TheHouseMag The NISTA review for the Leeds Tram found it was driven by a “political agenda rather than a recognised programmatic approach” Very interesting read
Noah Vickers@noahvickers14

EXCLUSIVE: @TheHouseMag has obtained the confidential government report which has delayed West Yorkshire's planned tram network. It warned the scheme was working to "unrealistic milestones" and there was a "high" risk of public money being wasted: politicshome.com/news/article/l…

@RichFromRail @chriscollins462 @peopledisplacer I was also impressed by Today's Railways offering subscriber discounts on products I was already buying such as Locomotives and Coaching Stock books which I still buy every year.

@neilatkin37 @chriscollins462 @peopledisplacer Out of interest Neil, what do you mean by "turning into a trade paper?" - not trying to be argumentative, just want to understand where we can improve or tweak content if it's required

@chriscollins462 @peopledisplacer I blocked him a long time ago, his mag was turning into a trade paper, I care more about on the platform. Insult him by calling his mag The Daily Rail.

@RichFromRail Good point about Darras Hall. There is such a thing as an open top city tour bus, though, albeit in the summer, but I just don't know quite what the point of a representation like this is, for the many reasons shown that just don't portray things as they were.

There are plenty of genuine archive films of public transport in Newcastle. To use "this is how Newcastle used to move" on an AI post is inaccurate, to put it mildly, especially when there's a TWPTE bus for 'Tooting Broadway' and other buses, Metrocars and more with an ID crisis.
River Tyne Time Machine:2Ai@RTTimeMachine2

From the rumble of double decker buses… to the early days of the Metro… to trains carrying generations across the North East… This is how Newcastle used to move. #RiverTyneTimeMachine2 #NewcastleUponTyne #TyneAndWear #NorthEastHistory #OldNewcastle

This is quite a nice travelogue of US rail travel during the current Airport shutdowns. Attitudes to rail travel in the US is fascinating and frustrating in equal measure apnews.com/article/airpor…

@Ogilvie_CJ @driverbod125 I agree in part but at the end of the day, it is their intellectual property and they have a right to protect it. They would have been better buying the app from the developers if they were open to it and capitalising on the clear interest rather than this approach imo though

GBR/Network Rail’s new Arrow clock brings a national rail identity like SNCF chime & Swiss Rail Clock. A developer created a webapp, anyone can run the clock on their desktop. But a ‘Cease and Desist’ from NR has ended the fun. It’s all about the IP £££. railclock.davwheat.dev
