I wonder if there's an opportunity to do something a bit like Independent Record Shop Day but with modelshops instead. I'm sure someone has thought of doing it before, but it could be pretty impactful as a way of getting existing customers to bring a friend in, get advice, see a demo, maybe retail a special wagon for collectors every year, do events etc. Could be a really good one. @ModelRailClub is way too busy holding other parts of sector together to do it, but I wonder if there was a retailer-led consortium that would see benefits. I don't know who'd lead it, but maybe it's the sort of thing a magazine could champion.

The little boy for whom Thomas the Tank Engine stories were written - Christopher Awdry, now 85 years old - is joining Pete Waterman on stage at Hammersmith Apollo 25th June. If you loved cars in the early 1990s and if you had an Amiga, this was one of the standout games. To this day I can remember the layout of Monaco and Silverstone when playing more modern sims. I’m still crap at games, but F1GP was amazing. The sequels even more so.

@TeakSawdust @TalyllynRailway Er, no. One-off films like that aren't often commissioned for TV any more. That sort of project isn't very close to the sort of stuff that I've done or people I work with. But if you want to put the weeks of work in to do the legwork to pitch and commission it, you go for it.
