On the live iPlayer version of Question Time tonight, we said that in their 2024 General Election manifesto, Labour didn’t mention the phrase ‘working people’ in relation to raising National Insurance. We are happy to clarify that they did and accordingly we have taken it out of the BBC1 edition of the programme.

So delicious to see the GC crowd turning on the LGB Alliance. I hope it sends a very clear message to any transphobic gays that they will eventually turn on you and treat you the way they treat the rest of the LGBTQIA+ community. Adopting their bigotry will not help you.

Jeeez, I thought my 230 mile round trip to the office was extreme / stupid. Over 8 hours of driving just to get to and from work?! 🤯 That’s assuming an average speed of 60mph, which is pretty generous between any two points in the UK 🤪

On BBC news today, manufacturers aren’t putting CD players in cars. I thought that stopped years ago. What’s the latest year that a leading manufacturer put one in their cars? Who’s disappointed they’ve gone?

@graeme_cobb I’ve always tended to use the strongest regen available in the two EVs I have and the several others I’ve driven. It hasn’t seemed to cause me a problem on motorways as some have said. My MG5 switch is in an awkward position.

Regen Braking - Why the Multiple Choice? ⚡️🚗🗻🚗⚡️ I don’t understand why electric cars need flappy paddles, toggle switches, B Modes or multiple options for regen braking. I’ve had two EVs and both had strong regen which brought the car to a stationary position. The amount of regen I gave the car was controlled by my right foot via the accelerator peddle. I can coast, I can firmly brake and I can judge how much regen is required simply by the pressure applied to the accelerator peddle at that given moment. It took a while to get used to it when I swapped out of my petrol auto to an EV, but I quickly enjoyed the regen braking. My wife’s MG has three modes which I describe as: ⚡️No regen ⚡️No where near enough regen ⚡️Still not enough regen I keep it in the 3rd mode but it still requires me to press the brake peddle a lot. It’s a missed opportunity not to have a fourth option: ⚡️This will stop the car mode So, why do motoring journalists (and possibly some everyday drivers) love the option of choosing regen strength so much? I just don’t get it. Questions: 🤔Do you paddle/toggle/switch through the modes seamlessly on a trip? 🤔Do have a preferred setting? 🤔How strong do you like your regen? 🤔Do you prefer it to drive like an auto ICE car? Let me know your thoughts, but whatever your opinion,and most importantly, have a great day ahead, folks.

@humphbecket I’d be fine with your suggestions, but I think the headline specs are aimed at ppl who are less EV aware.

It would be good if EV manufacturers measured their vehicles in miles per kWh (Wh per mile) rather than total range. Total range can hide an inefficient EV which would have a higher total cost of ownership. Does anyone have a view on this?

Lee Carsley has been given the huge honour of being manager of the England International football team. But in his first game tonight he won't sing our National Anthem. He's completely compromised his loyalty to his and our country. He can't love England and he should stand down.
