@cleeeees I think without some enforcement mechanism I'd always be convinced my competition are bending the rules.

I understand that they are pretty difficult to enforce, but having set guidelines by themselves really allows teams to be able to play without this worry, and i personally think that not having to hide in a gray area is a huge plus

when I did world prog, a huge topic that came up a lot was "how far can we push the line of allowable third-party tools". a very common mindset was "we don't like to use these tools, but there's nothing stopping other teams from doing so, so we have to assume they're using them"

@Lordmatteus2312 We've been using owlbear just because it's the lightest mechanical VTT we could find and the more features they have the worse they tend to be for just playing the game. If I could have everyone connect to a shared instance of MS paint that'd be what I'd do.

I dislike VTTs as, invariably, there will come a point in the session where the conversation is not about the game but about how the VTT works. I have yet to have a game session involving a VTT where this hasn't happened.

@EkramPT @MechadeuceXCVII @XboxGamePass @Subnautica The protagonist talked a LOT which removed a lot of the atmosphere of the original. The map was significantly smaller, so small in fact that they cut the most iconic vessel from the 1st game because it wouldn't work in the map. Also subjectively the biomes were less interesting.

@Fiye @Miunih They changed it recently from being an outright turn off to being just disabling personalization. As it says right there "If you opt out, you might still see Quest promotion, but they won't be personalized to your activity".
