How’s this for bad husbanding? I utterly failed to thank Simran from the stage for the wonderful job she did putting together Reconvene ‘24. One of the things I love about holding the event is that many of you get to experience the care, brains & love she puts into everything she does. I started following #retwit about a year ago and it’s been like getting an MBA. I decided to attend @REconveneLA and it was the best decision I could have made. Everyone was welcoming and I met great people! Thanks @moseskagan and @SimranKagan - I’ll definitely be back!

About to head back home after my third @REconveneLA and I have to say @moseskagan & @SimranKagan have created something truly special About 20 years ago I started getting invited to retreats and masterminds within the tech, e-commerce and marketing space At the same time I’d also be attending the industry “old school” conferences and the contrast between the two was obvious One was a bunch of high level fluff content wrapped up in a roster of corporate sponsors with vendors hounding you left and right The other was a curated group of “doers”, getting into the nitty gritty and sharing their secrets without the fear of running into a vendor trying to sell you The most powerful piece of that is the friendships and business partnerships that have come from those curated groups Imagine bringing together 50 of the most active internet marketers 20 years ago and how their careers/lives have gone since The 24 year old kid I met back then is now a 44 year old billionaire and there’s a handful of guys/gals that are pretty damn close to The point is, when you bring together high performing people and continue to cultivate those relationships through the years, the possibilities are absolutely infinite At @REconveneLA I continue to meet that caliber person year after year in the real estate space I’m certain @MRossG199 will one day break ground on one of the largest developments in Texas history 😉 @realEstateTrent is going to absolutely dominate strip malls with the influx of off market deal flow headed his way And @CaseyMericle is going to structure some crazy deal one day that’s going to make him FU money via 13 closings across 3 states in a single day There’s an endless list of examples and I wish I could invest in all of them I’m excited to see where we’re all at in 20 years If you’ve never attended and are active in the RE space, come next year, it’ll probably change your life Lastly, my favorite tradition. I bring back my daughter a snow globe every time I’m out of town.

This is my first post. I just came back from @ReConveneLA and I was amazed by the camaraderie that exist among this group of smart real estate professionals. I never understood what the REtwit community was all about but now I know. I’m excited to join in and contribute in any way possible to this community. Huge thanks to @moseskagan and @SimranKagan for putting an incredible event. The entire event was very thoughtful and refreshing. I look froward to getting to know more of you!

I want to thank @moseskagan and @SimranKagan for an incredibly well-designed event. I thoroughly enjoyed every mintue @REconveneLA and I will be back next year. I wrote 6 pages of notes/ideas on my flight home to San Francisco. The thoughtful structured socializing goes a long way for me as an introvert. I am still on a high from the great conversations I had. My Take Aways: 1. Think bigger. Foot on the gas, lean in, spend the time and do it. - I was surrounded by amazing, generous, smart, talented, and wealthy people but they aren’t any different. Even a 26,000 apartment portfolio was started by 3 partners with $37,000 and a dream. Go for it! (At the right moment) They were all in my shoes at one point. 2. The market will get worse before it gets better. Be patient but be ready. 3. The people behind the accounts were actually more impressive and genuine in person. I was surprised that they exceeded expectations. Most people were extremely understated compared to their track record. I am excited to have made so many new friends and put a person behind the account. I look forward to staying connected.
