I'm heartbroken to hear the news that Jamie Blanks has passed away. I had been in touch with J since 2021, and this is not hyperbole to say that he was the nicest filmmaker I had ever engaged with. No ego at all. When I told him that I was a huge fan of URBAN LEGEND and VALENTINE, not only was he ever so grateful, but he'd also fanboy with me over our mutual love for slashers and the artists he got to work with – as though he wasn't even aware that he more than deserved his status. A truly talented individual whose expertise stretched beyond writing and directing. He was a phenomenal composer too. J had hoped that he would once again get his chance to direct a big-screen slasher, and I am devastated that he never got the opportunity to fulfil his wish. If anybody deserved it, it was J. Thank you for your friendship, mate, and thank you for the kind words, which meant more to me than you will ever know. My sincere condolences to your family and friends. Rest in peace, brother. ❤️💪

@F13thFranchise One of the greatest moments of my life. I had searched the internet and fan chat rooms since the late 90s for this stuff. I'll always remember one fan back circa 2001 saying that it was Carl who had a tape. I almost can't believe that he wasn't lying.

That time Scream Factory followed up on the decades long rumor that Part 2 make-up effects artist Carl Fullerton had the full deleted scenes from the film, and he did, on VHS! Thus added to the Blu-Ray box set.

@SlasherTrash The Burning has long been my all time favourite non-franchise slasher movie.

THE BURNING VS. MADMAN Campfire clash, anyone? Two woodland slashers. Same year. Different vibes. THE BURNING (1981): Savini's savage FX, Cropsy stalking the woods, and that raft massacre. MADMAN (1981): That 'Madman Marz' campfire ballad, goofy hot tub love, and a chilling atmosphere. Which camp are you in?
