If banks aren’t able to handle mass redemptions this will get ugly.
It would only take 1 or 2 banks to be insolvent and we’d see a full global flight to stablecoins which are backed 1:1.

I'm currently in Dubai and the banks are getting weird. Citi and Standard Chartered literally evacuated their offices this week. Told staff go home, work remote. HSBC closed their Qatar branches. Hedge funds are in "contingency mode." That's a polite way of saying they're bricking it. Analysts are saying customers could pull out $307 BILLION if this goes on another month. $307 billion. Let that number sit for a second. Bank withdrawals are "elevated" — that's the official word. A guy I know who works at Emirates NBD told me they've had more wire transfer requests in the last two weeks than in all of Q4 last year. Iranian accounts? Those are getting flagged and frozen quietly. No announcement. The UAE central bank just launched their biggest support package since COVID. That's not a good sign — that's a panic button. People are moving money to Singapore, Switzerland, anywhere that isn't in Iran's flight path. The dirham is pegged to the dollar so it looks stable. But that peg costs money to defend, and everyone's watching it.

I know from my own losses and in reading your comments on X/Twitter how distraught many of you are with falling share prices.
In looking at the likely 2026 industry-wide Box Office, we still expect it to grow materially over 2025 and if so that inexorably would significantly increase AMC’s EBITDA.
However, the external macro backdrop around us is terrible. War in the Middle East, world oil prices soaring above $100 per barrel and other concerns have knocked the Dow Jones average to its lowest point in five months and the S&P 500 to its lowest point in four months.
As for AMC, I am optimistic about our power to increase our earnings this year over last year.
As for the state of the world, we will all read the news together. Naturally, we all can wish for the best on global developments.

The US and Japan make up 250M barrels of the 400M being released by the IEA.
The IEA headlines helped calm the markets but these 250M barrels won’t be released into the market until next week.
My best guess is that Oil squeezes higher short term…

The majority of oil analysts estimate the 400M barrel IEA release will happen at a pace of 1.2-4M bpd. 4M bpd won't cover even 25% of the daily hole from Hormuz being shut down. $CL $USO

This war is about oil.
Bessent farmed the volatility of crude futures to earn 28M barrels of yield on their SPR, at $100 per barrel thats $2.8B worth of free reserves.
We are growing our long term reserves while convincing the rest of the world to offload their SPRs.
Trump admitted this today...
"The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money."
Fun Fact, the USD gains between .5-1% of strength for every 10% increase in oil prices, it's called the petrodollar for a reason.
Economically it's in the best interest of the United States for oil to stay elevated long term and for this war to drag on. Position accordingly.

Bessent is short oil futures near term backed by the SPR, all while buying up longterm futures for yield.
Yield = 28M free barrels of oil.

@CryptKeeper_06 4M barrels from IEA and 7M from East-West Pipeline is only 11M barrels.
That’s still only ~50% of the supply that was coming out of Hormuz everyday.
Unless a ceasefire is negotiated it feels like oil will continue to rip higher.
