@AviMayer @owenjonesjourno The purpose of these comparisons is to provide historical context. Genocide is based on criteria, not on idiotic Zionists proudly boasting that their mass murdering of human beings at a slightly lesser rate than their genocidal predecessors somehow exonerates their atrocities

Let's break down this particularly dumb talking point, shall we? The bomb at Hiroshima killed an estimated 90,000 to 150,000 people. If Israel had indeed dropped the equivalent of 5.5 times the Hiroshima bomb on the comparatively small territory that is the Gaza Strip indiscriminately, with the goal of killing as many Palestinians as possible—as Owen and his fellow propagandists claim—that would have resulted in between 495,000 and 825,000 dead. But even Hamas itself says the number of casualties thus far is about 39,000 (a highly unreliable figure, given its source, but we'll use it here for argument's sake), of whom a sizeable proportion—more than a third, according to intelligence estimates, and perhaps closer to half—have been Hamas and Islamic Jihad combatants. That's less than 10%—perhaps even less than 5%—of the casualties we might have expected given the reported magnitude of the Israeli response and its supposedly indiscriminate nature. In actuality, then, either Israel is only using a fraction of the firepower it is said to be using, or it is deploying that firepower in a strikingly measured and targeted manner, while taking steps to protect innocent civilians and get them out of harm's way – precisely in order to avoid the kind of massive casualties that firepower of that magnitude is liable to cause. Either way, this data point actually disproves the claim—commonly made by those, like Owen, who employ it—that Israel is bombing Gaza indiscriminately. The numbers simply don't add up.

Appalled by the Israeli Military strike on al-Tabeen school and the tragic loss of life. Hamas must stop endangering civilians. Israel must comply with International Humanitarian Law. We need an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians, free all hostages, and end restrictions on aid.

@DavidLammy You are a despicable, compromised piece of shit. The UK is also violating IHL by continuing to arm & abet Israels genocide. You have very real power to act yet after 10 months of witnessing Palestinians bombed bulldozed sniped & now raped, you are still choosing to do nothing.

@george_revutsky @Rrrrnessa So why did they murder his entire family? They had the capability to eliminate him & chose collective punishment. They also had the capability of negotiating a ceasefire with him & chose collective punishment. Israel is not the good guy in this scenario.

@_LFI The Knesset already vetoed the 2 state solution so this statement rings hollow & insincere. The simple truth is that while Israel holds the power to refuse Palestinian statehood, they should be held to a higher account than those whose freedom they forbid timesofisrael.com/knesset-votes-…

UN Secretary General António Guterres, the Turkish Foreign Ministry and EU Special Middle East Rep, Sven Koopmans recently praised reconciliation efforts between Hamas and the Fatah party in Beijing. Legitimizing a terrorist organization that burned Israeli families alive, murdered children, kidnapped Holocaust survivors and is still holding over 100 Israelis hostage is despicable.
ישראל כ”ץ Israel Katz@Israel_katz

Hamas and Fatah signed an agreement in China for joint control of Gaza after the war. Instead of rejecting terrorism, Mahmoud Abbas embraces the murderers and rapists of Hamas, revealing his true face. In reality, this won’t happen because Hamas's rule will be crushed, and Abbas will be watching Gaza from afar. Israel's security will remain solely in Israel's hands.

@DrGiladNoam @Israel This ruling relates to Israel’s illegal occupation & annexation of Palestinian Territories long before Oct 7. Trying to use this singular act as retrospective justification for 76 years of apartheid, oppression, subjugation, ethnic cleaning & genocide is degrading & dangerous

Dr. Gilad Noam ד"ר גיל-עד נועם
Today’s Advisory Opinion by the #ICJ is a step backward for international law. The International Court of Justice just released its Advisory Opinion. Here are some preliminary thoughts. 1. For the proponents of this process, this was never about international law or sustainable peace. The parties that actively promoted this process seek to eradicate Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, and they've been abusing the international legal process to further this goal. 2. Turning to the Advisory Opinion – I cannot but express deep disappointment. The Opinion completely ignores the broader context of Palestinian terror activities that have been ongoing for decades. That it does so mere months after Hamas’s murderous attacks of October 7, 2023 is disconcerting. Worse, the Opinion effectively denies the Jewish people’s historic connections to the territories in dispute. 3. The Advisory Opinion takes at face value all the allegations made against Israel, without so much as considering any counter-facts that would nuance or contradict the false narrative that was presented. As a result, it contains one-sided conclusions that are fundamentally disconnected from reality. The opinion thus undermines, rather than enhances, the development of international law and, ultimately, efforts at reaching sustainable peace. 4. Accordingly, Israel completely rejects the conclusions of the Advisory Opinion (see below). Regardless, we remain committed to international law.
Oren Marmorstein@OrenMarmorstein

Israel rejects the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that was published today regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Unfortunately, the Court’s opinion is fundamentally wrong. It mixes politics and law. It injects the politics of the corridors of the UN in New York into the courtrooms of the ICJ in The Hague. The opinion is completely detached from the reality of the Middle East: while Hamas, Iran and other terrorist elements are attacking Israel from seven fronts - including from Gaza and Judea & Samaria – with the aim of obliterating it, and in the aftermath of the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, the opinion ignores the atrocities that took place on October 7, as well as the security imperative of Israel to defend its territory and its citizens. The opinion contradicts the guiding principle that formed the basis of all the peace agreements and arrangements that have been reached to date between Israel and its neighbors, according to which the resolution of the conflict will only be possible through direct negotiations between the parties. The opinion only distances the possibility of resolving the conflict. The Palestinian Authority, which initiated the move, is not interested in peace, but in slinging mud at Israel. Peace can only be achieved through direct negotiations between the parties, and the Palestinian Authority will not be able to evade this reality by turning to international tribunals. It should be emphasized that the opinion is blatantly one-sided. It ignores the past: the historical rights of the State of Israel and the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. It is detached from the present: from the reality on the ground and the agreements between the parties. And it is dangerous for the future: it distances the parties from the only possible solution, which is direct negotiations. Furthermore, it should be clarified that the opinion published today is an advisory opinion and it is not legally binding. The State of Israel adheres to the rule of law, and has an independent and respected legal system. It is committed to international law and it will continue to protect its citizens in accordance with international law.

Guess who the face of their campaign is? Bella Hadid, a half-Palestinian model who has a history of spreading antisemitism and calling for violence against Israelis and Jews.
