I just watched President Trump’s news conference on the heartbreaking, horrific accident at DCA, and I have to tell you: It’s one thing for internet pundits to spew up conspiracy theories. It’s another for the President of the United States of America to throw out idle speculation even as victims are still being recovered, and families are still being notified. It turns your stomach.

This is appalling. Quite apart from the blame-the-victim crapology of the thesis, the author is — how can I put this — not well. If Peterson were not a clear and present danger, if he were not a mouthpiece for every insane conspiracy theory and boiling resentment in the Trumposphere at a particularly perilous moment, I would be genuinely concerned for his health, and annoyed that the Post was exploiting his infirmity, like a circus freak show. But in the circumstances, it’s a bit like when Rob Ford was mayor: he’s clearly in distress, he very obviously needs help, but I’ll have more time for sympathy when he’s no longer in a position to do harm.

@JennaACunninham The limited supply of N95s did not justify telling the public that they shouldn't wear them. They should have been told: "N95s are the best. We don't have enough of them. So, for the time being, do the best you can with the best mask you can get and wear."
