7-Time Felon Kills Chicago Cop, Wounds Partner at Hospital CHICAGO — Alphanso Talley, a 26-year-old seven-time convicted felon who escaped electronic monitoring while on pretrial release for carjacking, shot and killed Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew and gravely wounded his partner Saturday at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital. Talley, in custody for armed robbery, obtained a gun inside the facility before opening fire. He was recaptured.
