I’ve had 6 wonderful years as trustee then Chair of the amazing @London_Cycling . Now stepping down to give more time to family with health issues. But I’m still campaigning and supporting the great LCC community- thanks for everything you do. Especially my local @THWheelers !

Hello @BBCBreakfast an increase of 36 from an original 60 Welsh MPs is not a 1/3 increase - it’s actually 3/5 or a massive 60% increase

Marshall, aged 21, is searching for a stem cell donor – but right now there’s not a single match worldwide for him. If you are aged 16-30 please consider signing up to the @AnthonyNolan stem cell register – you could be a lifesaver🙏 anthonynolan.org/marshallsmatch

I’ve written about the phrase that I’m channelling in 2025, and the story behind it. It’s too long for a thread but the piece is here if anyone fancies a read! linkedin.com/posts/carla-fr…

For the rights of the women of Afghanistan please read and RT
Women's Rights Network - WRN@WomensRightsNet

During the apartheid regime in South Africa the world responded to human rights abuses with sanctions and a sports boycott. Today, the world is silent over Afghanistan. The Afghan men’s coach, Jonathan Trott (born in South Africa but played cricket for England), was recently asked which was the best team in the Asia Cup. He proudly patted the badge on his shirt – Afghanistan. Pride in representing a country that has inflicted the most extreme human rights abuses on its female citizens is not the win @Trotty might think it is. The England men’s cricket team is drawn to play Afghanistan on 26th February 2025 in the ICC Champions Trophy. Women’s Rights Network calls for England to forfeit the match. In fact, we call on our politicians and sports governing bodies to go further. We call for: · @Keir_Starmer to order a boycott of all Afghanistan fixtures in any sport. · The @ECB_cricket to forfeit all matches against the Afghanistan men’s cricket team in any tournament. · Players and coaches to examine their consciences – the women in your families are free to dress how they please, be educated, take jobs, travel, have bank accounts, speak and sing. How can you in all conscience play a country that denies women their basic human rights? Pride in the team shirt includes pride in your country’s record on standing up for human rights and against dictators who bask in the kudos of sporting success. What is happening to the women of Afghanistan is appalling. Any sportsman of conscience should do what is right: Boycott Afghanistan.

@MenTourPilot Sure your informative video played a part in publicising this issue. The science of whisper traces was discussed on BBC news today and explained really clearly. It’s still a massive search area - but the best chance yet for grieving families.

My friends @themayhew have shared with me the shocking statistic that black cats take twice as long to be adopted as other cats. If you're considering providing a home to a cat please think about that when you make your choice 🐈‍⬛ #BlackCatFriday
Mayhew 🐶🐱@themayhew

Black cats take twice as long to be adopted. Doesn’t sound fair? That’s because it isn’t. 💔 So this #BlackCatFriday, forget the latest tech deals and consider something more fulfilling.... like adopting a black cat. 🥰🙌 👀 themayhew.org/blackcatfriday Big purrs for @havaslondon

@TimONeill007 Disconcerting rather than jarring- a reminder that we are observing from the vantage point of C21st. Historical accuracy of setting ( props etc) is very different from actually telling POC they can’t audition. The music has C21st elements, the dialogue is often v modern…

I mean I already hated the majority of cyclists for their lack of awareness, their sense of entitlement, no insurance or safety gear, or their lack of culpability but @MikeyCycling takes the grand prize for total bellends.

This is PD Bandit’s happy face. He’s happy because yesterday he located Class A & B drugs and cash. Today, he had a trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog and located some Class A & B drugs! That’s a hat-trick for the week! 👏

Jess never gave up hope, despite the worst prognosis. Her vitality buzzed like sparking electricity in the room. Medics wept & marvelled at her. When young people die, despite their enduring determination, bells in every corner of the country should ring celebrating them.🧵10/10

Four years ago today, Jess & I sat close, our heads touching, the phone between us. A question hung in the air. Could Jess get to the hospital? The word ‘sweetheart’ used liberally. Just the change of tone signalled our biggest fear. Cancer. 🧵 1/10
