Ben Gvir commands the Israeli police as national security minister.

Shahmir Sanni (@shahmiruk) was a 24-year-old British-Pakistani volunteer working inside the Brexit campaign. He noticed something. Vote Leave was funnelling £675,000 through a youth group called BeLeave, routed straight to a Canadian data firm called AggregateIQ, and never declaring it. That is illegal. He went to the Electoral Commission and told them.
Then Downing Street destroyed him.
Stephen Parkinson, Theresa May's political secretary and Sanni's former partner, issued an official statement via Number 10's communications team. It told the press Sanni was gay. Sanni had not come out to most of his friends, his family, or his relatives in Pakistan, where homosexuality is illegal. His family needed security measures after the statement dropped.
Theresa May was asked in Parliament if Parkinson should resign. She said: my political secretary does a very good job.
The Electoral Commission later confirmed it. Vote Leave broke spending law. They overspent by nearly £500,000, were fined £61,000, and referred to the police. The fine was capped by law. The police did nothing.
Parkinson was rewarded with a life peerage in May's resignation honours. He is now Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay, sitting in the House of Lords.
Sanni had to come out to his mother two days before giving a public speech. He found out she knew when he told her. The state had already made sure everyone else did too.
This is what political whistleblowing looks like in Britain. You expose the fraud. They expose you. Then they give the person who did it a seat in the Lords.

@FlyingRadical @flying_rodent Not true. The generous expense policies definitely are still in place. At many firms, it’s normal for senior staff to get pissed at lunch time and there are plenty of hedge funds where they have designated stalls in the toilet for doing coke.

This account is so intellectually dishonest. He doesn't mention that Churchill's 1922 White Paper explicitly said Palestine would NOT be converted to a Jewish state akin to how England is an English state. From then until 1948, when Israel became a state, the UK acted mostly to appease the Arab League, eventually becoming so hostile to the idea of Zionism that it mostly completely reneged on its initial tepid support of the concept.

Zionism was basically a joint project of British Colonialism and ideological Zionists* from 1917 to 1939. The first High Commissioner for Palestine, Herbert Samuel (1920-1925), was a passionate, ideological Zionist, as was Winston Churchill, the Colonial Secretary whose White Paper established (in 1922) an ultra permissive immigration policy to Palestine, limited only by economic absorption considerations. The Jewish Agency, the Yishuv's main governing body, many of whose institutions and whose most important leader (Ben-Gurion) became the institutions and leader of Israel in 1948, was established under British auspices in 1929. Britain certainly turns against Zionism in 1939, with the White Paper and immigration restrictions. But Israel would have never existed without British Colonialism. * Obviously as an ideology Zionism, including political Zionism, precedes 1917 by many decades. As did Jewish settlement in (Ottoman) Palestine. But political Zionism doesn't really get off the ground until the Balfour Declaration.

Netanyahu signed the Hebron protocol in 1997. Most people forget that he actually did try to abide by the stipulations of Oslo during his first term. Whether or not he actually wanted to deep down is another story, but there’s a clear shift from how he conducted his policies in the early parts of his career to how he acts today.
