As a child, I carried dreams. I couldn’t have imagined becoming @UNOCHA’s first Assistant Secretary-General from the Global South.   For me, this journey has always been about people. Because with representation, comes responsibility – to serve, listen & lift others as you rise.

Following last week’s attack in Mbalom, Benue, UNHCR, with Caritas and SEMA, delivered relief items to 18 affected households. Blankets, mattresses, solar lights and other essentials are helping families meet urgent needs. A timely, coordinated response when it matters most.

With the support of UNHCR,Cameroonian refugees & #Nigerians have formed cooperatives in Taraba 🇳🇬 to expand cassava processing. When communities boost their income & strengthen food security, they can absorb shocks more easily & are less dependent on long term aid. #WithRefugees

With support from @unhcrnigeria, the @CCFNigeria team currently implementing the Protection Services for Cameroonian Refugees Project in Taraba State, has successfully distributed farm and agro-processing equipment to eight farmers’ cooperatives across Takum, Kurmi, and Sardauna Local Government Areas of the state. The distribution, carried out from March 17–23, reached both refugees and members of host community cooperatives, helping to promote self-reliance, strengthen food security, and support sustainable income generation for families. Items provided included cassava processing equipment, essential farming tools, and a feed mill machine for cooperative members. Beneficiaries received the equipment with great enthusiasm and expressed their commitment to maximising the support to improve their livelihoods. @CCFNigeria nigeria and @unhcrnigeria remain confident that this intervention will boost local production, enhance the agricultural value chain, and foster peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities. #SDGs #Livelihoodsupport #Ruraldevelopment #Agriculturalsupport #Sustainablelivelihoods

The planned allocation by the Nigerian Humanitarian Fund🇳🇬 will enable @UNHCRNigeria to step-up our life-saving efforts in Benue. Delighted that Hon’ble Minister @DrBernardDoro of @fmha_pa and Executive Governor of @benuestategovt HE @HyacinthAlia agreed to lead these efforts.
