This is what our children are being taught.
That people (including their parents) simply “made a guess” at who they were when they were born.
By telling children “maybe they got it wrong”, it imposes an existential crisis upon them.

It's amazing how many people found out they were claustrophobic after being forced to wear them. Not to mention trauma survivors...
