To walk abroad is not with eyes, but thoughts, the fields to seize and prize.

Before Alastair Cook and Joe Root, there was Graham Gooch - one of England’s finest. #SuperSunday

@MacedonianYeltz @dorantim @WarwickshireCCC Sure he had one poor season but he's been the best bowler for a long time now and led the attack. For me, he gets in ahead of all of the others, barring perhaps Woakes. A 2 week minimum loan means he's not in their plans for at least the first couple of games. I find it very odd.

@dorantim @WarwickshireCCC The seam bowling is stacked this season. Woakes, Gilchrist, Bamber, Thompson, Booth, Barker etc. OHD has been a good servant, but is he really going to play ahead of most of those? He dropped off quite a bit last summer too.

@mlmclint @BenjaminHa32198 @Falilatt_ Surely the asshole is the employer not paying their staff a decent wage. Passing the responsibility on to the customer seems like a weird business model.

@BenjaminHa32198 @Falilatt_ The server employer’s pay the servers basically nothing (ex: 2.13 an hour in texas). Without tip, the server do not get a living wage. I don’t agree with tips but not doing it is being an asshole. It’s like not saying hi and thank you.

@CricketopiaCom In real time I thought it looked like it was missing off stump, on the replays though it looks clearly plumb.

@GeorgeDobell1 I think so. Nasser, Vaughan and Strauss all went after a South Africa series, I believe.

Correct me if i'm wrong but... this much repeated line about a cycle where England sack the captain and coach straight after losing the Ashes in Oz... I reckon they've only reacted that way once this century.

@NoContextCounty Probably not the greatest of all time, but as a Warwickshire fan it still gives me the chills to watch. Somewhat bittersweet knowing this was his last ever game.

Given the context is this 9fer from Liam Norwell the greatest individual bowling performance of all time? If not, what is?

@johnlbirch @Grampa_CILISI @CricketopiaCom My interpretation of the Law is that completing the action is specific to receiving the delivery, so if, in the opinion of the umpires, the delivery has already been received then any subsequent action is not relevant.

@Grampa_CILISI @ToWalkAbroad @CricketopiaCom "Completing ANY action". No mention of the shot. I'm not saying he was out (hit wicket anyway) or not, but that it is legitimatly debatable given the wording of the law.

Is that a HIT Wicket? A controversial decision made by the third umpire when Mark Waugh hit the stumps with his bat after playing a delivery from Shaun Pollock.

@bayrafiq @CricketopiaCom From what I can find in the Laws there's nothing about the action being all on one motion. Completing the action is specific to receiving the ball. If, in the opinion of the umpires, the ball has been received, any subsequent action is not relevant, even if it's the same motion.

@apopheniaracing @CricketopiaCom I think the most important words in the Law are 'receiving the ball'. I don't think you can reasonably argue he was still receiving it when the ball is heading to gully and he's walking other way. My interpretation is any action (or reaction) after receiving it becomes irrelevant

@ToWalkAbroad @CricketopiaCom I remember the question of it was he still reacting, which would be out, I don’t think you can be 100% so still not out, I guess

@bayrafiq @CricketopiaCom The ball was heading to gully so he had received the delivery. Any action happening afterwards is not relevant according to the Laws.

@ToWalkAbroad @CricketopiaCom Not correct, batsman has not completed his action since he had not come to a compete rest. This is still part of the action of avoiding the bouncer

@johnlbirch @CricketopiaCom I don't know the answer to your second point without delving deeper into the Laws. As to your first, he turned around and flicked the stumps as he was walking away and the ball heading to gully. I don't think that can reasonably be called reacting to the delivery, in my opinion.

@ToWalkAbroad @CricketopiaCom I think he is still reacting to the delivery (backing away) so arguably he has not "completed any action". Alternatively, by putting down the wicket while the ball is live is he obstructing the field - ie. if he ran and the wicket was down it would make a run out harder?
