@Loading404nf @isgoodactually @AniseNot All I’m saying is that her living and me dying is better than me living and her dying and I think most parents would agree. Therefore I think most parents pick blue so to save everyone, pick blue

@TrojanFever @isgoodactually @AniseNot Is it? How many of your family members picked red with the thought of "all the adults in my family are going to pick blue, I need to pick red to take care of any of their kids who pick red" Let's also, say your right that most people pick blue. Fantastic. That's great, it's good

Ok but this test is announced suddenly. Everyone on Earth must take it immediately, including all children from 3yrs old on up You are not with your children & cannot speak to them before the test is administered Now what do you pick?
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@Loading404nf @isgoodactually @AniseNot I think you’re misunderstanding my post. I’m not claiming high ground. “Everyone” includes kids. If I press red and my kid presses blue and dies I’ll have had a hand in it. Hence my comment about parents pressing blue

@Loading404nf @isgoodactually @AniseNot People with young kids will always pick blue. If you understand that you should pick blue too unless you just want a large % of the population to die

@JustinMacmahan @DogHydra25 Their argument is that a substantial number of people are too retarded to understand the question and that we are obligated to commit suicide next to them.

The majority of people pressing blue is the epitome of virtue signaling. 100% of people should just press red and guarantee survival. There’s absolutely zero reason for anyone to press blue, but these sheep think it’s the virtuous choice so they vote for it anyway

@AniseNot There's not enough kids to tilt the vote to Blue. Children under 10 are only 16% of the global population, and that's including babies and toddlers. So your premise changes nothing. Blues will still die no matter what you do. Do you join them, or not?

@Gabriel78470020 @AriDavidPaul The problem is you dont understand that "everyone" includes kids... im not relying on my 4 yr old to understand this and choose red. Its not that people are sub80 iq. Its that you didnt fully understand the parameters

@AriDavidPaul There’s no reason to select blue unless you are sub80 IQ goyim. Genuinely shocking how many voted Blue. Shows how easily people can be programmed by words. If he asked “Pressing Blue = 50% chance of dying, Pressing on Red = 0% chance of dying”, everyone would vote red.

As a game theory question, it’s boring and easy. As a political question, it’s fascinating and reveals a great deal about why democracies struggle. Superficially, blue looks like the collectivist, selfless, moral answer. And as you’d expect, plenty of people not only assumed that to be true, but moralized aggressively at those who understand that’s not factually true. Anyone who picks red is guaranteed to live, including if everyone does it. It’s objectively the better and more moral choice for most and to recommend to others. Blue is a kind of stochastic suicide button.

@Diatribe333 @Drjusmar @mykola The question doesn't say that those who can't understand the question at all must vote. It's absurd to postulate automatically that understanding the question itself is unnecessary to play the game.

Ah this one again. To my dear rationalist friends who are so confused as to why anyone would press the blue button: I don't want anyone's blood on my hands. "But if everyone just presses red then everyone lives" yeah but that's also true for blue, plus no complicity in murder.

Are there seriously people that think the Eagles moved up and the Steelers just sat there confused for eight minutes? That’s a real narrative? I’m probably more critical of the Steelers than most people and even I think that’s ridiculous.

@CincinattusC @jareidz @waitbutwhy I am assuming everyone can see that picking blue is picking a 50% chance of death. Picking red is 100% safe. Red are not picking to kill blue, they are just wounding why anyone would take a chance of death for no reason.

@9Sling @marcthiessen If you want to start over or have a Constitutional Convention, do it. Maybe we need reform? Maybe we need 1 Rep/each county? But within the current system, ENFORCE the existing laws. “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the USA & TO THE REPUBLIC…” the laws of states/territories.

@Linkers64 @stacycay @Apayauq1 I'm not struggling to grasp anything. That pic was taken when Trump was in office. The OP said it was "during Obama" which is factually untrue and it even has a CN. Again... you can make a point without lying about when the pic was taken. Not sure why you're failing to understand

@TrojanFever @stacycay @Apayauq1 it means Obama was still responsible for the situation even if that photo was taken right after he left office. Bush was still responsible for the housing market, and Trump was still responsible for the Covid recession. I dont know what youre struggling to grasp
