In other news, a Russian @Uber driver hit my wife’s new car and now they say we have to pay through our insurance—told us via text message, because they just won’t do it—no reason given.
I’m pretty sure the guy is not insured—the insurance card he showed my wife does not cover ride share—but they let him drive clients anyway, so they’re playing hardball to blow me off I guess.
I’m deciding how I (the little guy) can do maximum reputational and financial damage to Uber. Any ideas?
Any ideas @Uber_Support, or are you going to do nothing?
@Grok, what’s the best way to go after Uber?
English

@WhiteHouse This is obscene. You all need to go away and I don't care how at this point.
English

@TruthWill_Reign And don’t stop until DC is completely empty.
English

@BreannaMorello This is bad propaganda. Why are you falling for it?
English

@MrSausageGet It's a paid influencer campaign. Those people aren't real.
English

@ClayTravis Hey dumbass. We're the evil ones. Wake the fuck up.

How many peaceful protesters are you okay with Iran killing, Glenn? My answer is zero. The Iranian government, which is profoundly evil, has definitely killed tens of thousands. The official number is difficult to determine because the people of Iran still don’t have the Internet
Glenn Greenwald@ggreenwald
@ClayTravis Yes, the US fights wars to free the oppressed peoples of the world and to bring them freedom and democracy. How do you decide when to claim that Iran killed 30,000 protesters, or 45,000, or 70,000? Does it depend on the day of the week or lyrical flow or something else?

On August 9th, 1945 the U.S. dropped a nuclear bomb on Nagasaki named "Fat Man"
On April 6th, 2026 a man named after that very device is cheering on further war crimes.

Iran will no longer be allowed to harm the global economy with their terroristic intentions.

It wasn't a post-additional charge. It was just listed on the contract fine print. They do this to get around insurance laws and deductibles.
Roofer's retail price for a job is $10,000. Insurance writes an Xact estimate for 10,955.32. Roofer tells the owner he can do it for insurance proceeds, never mentioning retail price. Roofer writes an invoice for $10,955.32 then applies a promotional discount of $500 after the fact for a "yard sign" to "pay the deductible." The contract language allowing that HAS to be in the contract. It HAS to be applied AFTER the invoice, otherwise insurance indemnifies up to the deductible only. Therefore, it HAS to be an up-front fee on paper. If it's not insurance, the companies don't mention it OR - they do like they did with you -- mention it, but after the fact and say it's a nice discount when in fact it has been priced into the job if for no other reason than to make it easy for accounting to know if the sales person sold the job at or above their pricing minimums or whether they should back- charge the salesperson for the difference.
English

@TrueQuoteSC @end3of6days9 My point is that our contractors discuss pricing and any fees like the "inconvenience fee" prior to signing the contract for the work. I'm well aware of markup and pricing they do. I don't know what contractors you're working with but I never have any additional charges
English

Would you pay $300 extra just to keep your own home private? 🤔
This woman is heated after discovering a crazy clause in her kitchen remodel contract. The company says they can take photos and videos of her house for their social media and website — unless she pays a $300 “inconvenience” fee to keep it off the internet.
She had a scary stalking incident last year (a man showed up at her home and she had to get a restraining order), so privacy and safety are a huge deal for her. She politely explained everything and asked them to waive the fee — she’s a full-paying customer with zero discounts — but they flat-out refused.
You can literally hear her heart racing as she explains how unfair and insane this feels. She was about to put down her deposit and now she’s seriously rethinking the whole remodel.
Update: The kitchen remodel company is now contacting their attorney for defamation because she made this video.

@GrandpaBuckyVT @end3of6days9 You are all dumb as rocks. The price your contractor quotes you is calculated, but mostly created out of thin air and includes added wiggle room for negotiation discounts. You were charged extra and it was disclosed later. Nothing was discussed. You just feel like it was.
English

@TrueQuoteSC @end3of6days9 It's a DISCUSSED piece though. My contractors have knocked a bit off if I opt to let them put signage up. But it's discussed to opt into the system. We are a private breed of folks in the Midwest though

I have been in the trades for over 20 years and retail remodeling for the past 8 working with 20+ different companies up until last June. I have been trained and trained others in 2 different sales systems, and was a presenter at the Crawford and Co’sContractor Connection convention last May in Louisville KY. Since I left the trades, I now coordinate on the insurance side. Contractors offer discounts for signs, pictures, reviews, and referrals…, and one even discounts for donated jackets. All of these discounts are baked in to the initial price and there for the homeowners to take advantage of or not. The salesmen still have to sell at or above their per minimum pricing or it comes out of their commission checks. You can be idiots if you like, but that doesn’t change reality.
English

@RobbyMartini @TrueQuoteSC @end3of6days9 I am in the trades, and ALL my buds are electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc etc... and this guy is the epitome of what gives GCs a bad name... scumbag....

It isn’t hatred of older people.
It’s literally just mathematical logic
Tinebob@Tinebobagain
To be clear, I want young people to have homes & work & fantastic lives. I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t. But this hatred of older people is not acceptable. And it IS hatred. Pure venom I have no idea where it came from but it will not end well, for anyone Change course.

@PrincessBravato He doesn't care about his career. He's 80. He'll be dead. This is a bucket list thing.

@TrueQuoteSC @ksalon53 @end3of6days9 I just had my roof replaced last year. There was absolutely no discount for putting the yard sign in my yard.. they got to put a yard sign in my yard because they did a good job
