I don't care much for the incel worldview but it is wickedly funny how when women think of a repulsive man, the tendency to highlight height just comes through, always in odd, unexamined tension with stated ideals of feminist rhetoric

@hayasaka_aryan Off-screen it's obvious she's got some dental protrusion that's fucked her entire face up. Shifted everything. Camera tricks and her keeping her mouth closed covers it mostly. x.com/Wodenshot/stat…
Wodenshot@Wodenshot

She's been very good with hiding those chompers in TV and film up to this point but this is absolutely devastating. I thought she just had a simian-like maw. But, She don't. It's just incredible and grotesque dental game. It's all been tooth obfuscation.

Poe's Law, Esq: Poe's Lawyer
Seriously, the fantasy boyfriend who is somehow masculine enough to provide/protect, feminine enough to emotionally attune, parental enough to absorb instability, monk-like enough not to pressure sex, and gay-coded enough not to feel sexually dangerous. That’s not a partner. That’s a bandage for your own emotional issues. I’m not saying he doesn’t exist, but he’s either a psychopath, married, or just got hit by a bus last week. Those are your options.
Poe's Law, Esq: Poe's Lawyer@dyingscribe

Some of you are too emotionally and hormonally disordered/neurotic/anxious for a normal relationship. And that is OK (It really isn’t) but you either need to get therapy or stop acting like other men are at fault for not being able to bandage your wounds

when i was in india the men i met would go out of their way to tell me things like “my wife cooks dinner but then she must stand and wait for my mother to eat first.” they’d say it like they were really proud. i think the dynamic is something like: the mother spoils the son and this makes him very loyal to her. women have no power and are treated badly until they are old and have a DIL to subjugate, and at that point they take full advantage bc they’ve waited their entire life to have any status at all. anyway, seems like a fucking nightmare.
sympathetic opposition@sympatheticopp

i was wondering why when i read abt indian arranged marriages in india the structure seems so miserable but when i meet (older) indian couples, their arranged marriages seem pretty happy & i realized its bc im meeting them in america and they moved here without the mother in law

@YinYangTurbo @SolutionOrganic @Romy_Holland The man card doesn't really work within families and especially intergenerationally and especially especially when you're usurping a maternal domain. The backlash would not be limited to just the mom

Hard to say. My guess would be his mom would have been pissed, but also probably would have respected him more. Especially if he had pulled a masculine card on her like “I’m the man, I know best.” Basically use the misogyny of the culture to his advantage as long as he held that position calmly, like an immovable rock. Projecting power. Also, he’d have healthy children. That being said, he may have relied on family and extended family for certain resources. For example, I know he had a prestigious government job as a teacher, which he probably obtained through family connections. It may have been power like this that made him unable to disobey his family.

@Romy_Holland Correct - its a cycle of abuse perpetuated by former victims who also seem themselves as generous bc they’re “not as bad” as their own MIL etc. this has many cultural enforcement mechanisms. common for indian families to want an educated DIL who quits her job to be traditional

While this does seem frustrating — making a habit of getting the husband going and then shutting down will lead to frustration — there is the flipside, which is that women don’t want sex until they are turned on, and then they do want it. So while it looks like she’s playing a trick on the husband, she’s playing a trick on herself (tricking herself into actually wanting sex after all, which she didn’t know she wanted)
emily may@emilykmay

there's a sex therapist who has a ritual of making out with her husband every night before bed, and so many of the comments on her posts are some version of "but what if he gets turned on and I don't want to have sex" and i need men to understand and prioritize non sexual touch.

Urban India is full of this. Indians learnt English as a primary language in school, so got really good at the Latin script, no Bahasa type orthography either, just standard English, but then daily life was still regional, so they’d speak in it. Functionally, they can’t read their own languages, but aren’t good enough at English to critically read serious literature - a problem now also common in USA, at a lesser level. And unlike Indonesia, India refuses to have a standardized EYA style version of Hinglish or whatever regional horrific pidgins have developed. So not only do we have multiple languages and each of them have multiple dialects, we have multiple daily systems of communication that aren’t used in any serious capacity. We’re reinventing Papa New Guinea from first principles and we’re going to be so fucked.
