I usually stay away from politics, but this is simply common sense! Can we as an American citizen go to another country and partake by voting, in said countries elections? You need an ID for everything in life! Am I missing something here??? By 5 votes?? I'd love for someone to explain why a congressman/woman would vote no?

BREAKING: The U.S. House has passed the SAVE America Act by a 218–213 vote, sending it to the U.S. Senate. The bill would require Voter ID and citizenship verification to cast a ballot in elections.

@LndsPatterson Shemar obviously had much to be desired from his rookie season but I do think it’s worth noting that skill positions generally grade out better than trench players in terms of individual action grades on PFF. For example, I thought Derrick Harmon had a really solid rookie season

@_Pat_Murphy We’re literally only talking about MLS valuations. I don’t even know what “the single entity model isn’t what it was at one point” is supposed to mean. It’s not a subjective concept. Im over trying to talk sense into you.

I'm talking in general, not just MLS. I've done plenty of research. I understand the single entity model isn't what it was at one point (did you know there are multiple MLS clubs that haven't been paid their Apple TV share?), but that doesn't mean that clubs aren't still owned by the league and therefore the value is all tied to the league's value. Teams can't negotiate their own merchandising deals. Plenty of sponsors come through the league and there are regulations over what sponsors can be attached to MLS clubs. The league still has final say on most things that occur, which makes it difficult to not only have major differences in valuation (which also helps to create some parity) but also determine those valuations.

It's actually a good question, considering MLS is a single-entity league and all the teams are really worth the same. But I think I get the point its trying to make.
They used to call me Country@ou_country

@_Pat_Murphy I'm curious how ANY franchise in MLS is actually worth that kind of change.

@_Pat_Murphy Do some research and come back, man. You’re categorically wrong. Ticket sales and sponsorship (in MLS) are the biggest revenue drivers. Apple TV pays each club about $8m/y right now. Merchandise is a big variable for teams like Miami compared to a Montreal.

@WalkerTice Revenue, yes. Ticket revenue at major clubs/teams are small part of the calculation, especially in MLS where most tickets aren't expensive and therefore not generating much income. TV contracts, merchandise sales lead are much greater revenue generators.

@_Pat_Murphy Revenue absolutely matters in valuations. Arguably the most important part but okay, you’re the expert🤣

Ticket revenue has little to do with valuations of teams. These lists are silly to begin with because the only valuation that matters is what someone will pay for a team/club and that's largely more infrastructure and brand than anything on the field. I think that's a better example because the investor-operators do pay for stadiums/training facilities, but if an MLS team is going to be sold, it's going to be MLS behind the valuation. Either way, it is very different than an EPL or NFL team, which I guess was my point.

@_Pat_Murphy Each team has different revenues, assets and expenses so, yes, they have tangibly different valuations.

@_Pat_Murphy Patrick, I’ve started an MLS team. Three more USL teams. I assure you I am well informed on which I speak. For example MLS now only shares a small portion of ticket revenues. Some revenues diverted as premiums for private areas and only ticket costs are shared.

@WalkerTice Technically, they're all worth the same, as MLS sets the price to expand into the league or to purchase a current team.

@WalkerTice All the teams are owned by the league. All the players are paid by the league. Investor operators (they aren't owners) buy the right to run the club. That's single-entity.
