I wish I could have been there. When Eddie was killed in the crash they say one of the first on the scene was a young policeman call Dave Dee - later to claim fame as the singer with Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich. Eddie was, in my view, one of the greatest Rock 'n Rollers

I think I read the author of the piece was more into things like opera etc. Eddie was booked for another show but sadly died in a car crash. The programme was printed and the name at the bottom of the list to appear was Gerry & The Pacemakers.
