Our weather balloon failed shortly after launch. There will be no back up launch at this time. We will share what data we captured prior to the failure. 5:16 pm EDT 4/2/26.
@WeatherFreak202@NWSSPC I’m just south of Unionville here like righhhhht on the warm front and it’s foggy as ever here lol. Today doesn’t look the best right now but if it manages to materialize then there might be some nice storms today
An ACTIVE stretch of severe weather is possible across the central US in early April.
Multiple storm systems may track through the Plains, Midwest, and Great Lakes, bringing repeated chances for severe weather. It is still too early for exact details, but the overall pattern could support damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes somewhere in the highlighted region.
Model runs printing out storms all over the Lower Peninsula from midnight to midnight on Tuesday is almost like Oprah handing out free prizes to everyone in the audience.
“You get a storm, you get a storm, everyone gets a storm”.
Truthfully, not everyone will get severe weather, but model runs do want to print out storms everywhere for Tuesday. If these storms are not severe and occur earlier in the day, they would help stabilize the atmosphere, meaning knock down our severe chances for the afternoon. Don’t want severe weather? Cheer for a complete washout.
