@jords If Europe or other nations start forcing KYC? Or if Blackrock or other big banks start lobbying aggressively for it, could still come under current admin too imo.

basically there are billions of dollars in crypto that are trapped forever because of taxes not paid or ppl who don't want to pay them. these billions want to trade and hyperliquid is the best available, liquidity builds and becomes too great an edge for new competition hyperliquid slowly enables every global asset to be traded on-chain with industry-grade slippage / experience and is the optimal place for all crypto natives and all other consumers who would prefer to not declare their trades the risks associated with KYC'ing and regulations will likely not be present for another ~3 years (US gov change) which gives a long runway for great things to happen and at present they don't even operate in the largest financial capital of the world (the states). there is centralisation risk also but i have confidence in team via to-date performance the tokenomics (buybacks with revenue) and initial distribution are simply the best to ever do it. the buybacks are increased with liquidations making it a token that generally holds up well in all conditions. second cycle pumps are usually the best of them and hype has an amazing team, a very loyal base with large engagement and has outperformed everything for the past several months which has it primed to outperform to the upside too imo it is the comfiest token to hold while also having a fairly insane amount of upside narrative potential. it can actually fulfil solana's goal of 'nasdaq at lightspeed' and trade every asset, 24/7 (including making seed rounds liquid etc). it is a fully functioning L1 and the ecosystem around it is still in its infancy, i see no reason why further success will not attract more users via culture activations like events, nfts, memecoins, art. these are all mostly unexplored narratives that build layers to value and speculation the best tokens are the ones that slip just out of your grasp and never gave an easy entry $HYPE at the current market cap of $SOL is $203 $HYPE at the current market cap of $SOL ATH is $563 hyperliquid

@jords what's your thesis for hype?

Software is dead and it isn't coming back. Think about it like this: Why would anyone pay more than 10 years of forward earnings for any software company that can be disrupted by AI next year? Many of these software companies are still trading at 30x+ earnings.

@AviFelman Most people seem to be in favor of a "freeze"/lock on old addresses after a timeout period. Quantum will probably lead to a chain split/hard fork as there are diehards against this (immutability).

Bitcoins largest risk (quantum) needs to be taken seriously by the industry. This is a good first step. As a reminder, it is inevitable that quantum computing is developed. While the infrastructure may have been updated any “lost” coins can be recovered. It’s therefore a question of who is able to crack the encryption first. Better hope is a Bitcoin enthusiast that cares more about the market than their personal bottom line.

Going to start spending time on this personally - seems like we all need to solve it sooner rather than later.

I'm long tao right now on the social/mega-church thesis. jcal is running a pretty naked shill of this thing, it can bring in non-crypto capital reminiscent of the tech bros longing zec independent of the social component, the bull case for tao is that it's a hedge against centralized ai. As claude, gpt, & gemini get better, the value of this put goes up asymmetrically in theory. the templar pre-training run is the primary catalyst for the recent price action because it validates the viability of the bittensor tech stack for E2E training of models My personal contention with this thesis is how far behind TAO still is. covenant 72B is comparable to Llama-2... not really that impressive. smart accounts i respect say the progress is impressive and there's reason to believe it's actually on a superior long term path compared to centralized training. In my experience AWS > Crypto for nearly all things data & compute so i'm not convinced of this yet. > side note, there's an autistically bullish crowd of low iq TAO maxis. murad mode: this is a good thing wrt holder dynamics. it makes the trade easier than others to sit in. As of now, this is how i'm thinking about the trade: 1. The Tech: if it's legit I'm more inclined to hold or even keep a long term bag after taking profits (hopefully higher). if it's ass, then i'm gonna full stack when social momentum turns. 2. Social: we all know how crypto works, i'm going to out vibe-trade jcal.

Guy who's never been to the gym in his life / experienced the joy of a lingering injury going away forever says bpc is a scam
TBPN@tbpn

"BPC-157 is the biggest scam I've ever seen. It does absolutely nothing. There's no redeemable value to it." - @MartinShkreli "Why are we going backwards? Why don't we go forwards? What is this urge by the Valley — and I blame the Valley — to go backwards through time and space?" "This is nonsense. This is not science. Science is controlled experiments that are well-done, very carefully documented, and so forth."

The Defi dream is dead I can get 3.14% APY basically risk free on one of the best tradfi brokers Or I can risk 100% to make 2.13%-3.5% on some of the "most secure" Defi protocols You're not even getting paid for the risk anymore on the yield ur just being retarded

@QwQiao I do not believe that. They figure out what they want, what went wrong in the past etc. They don't dwell on their feelings/their past too much, i think that's what he meant but it's very poorly phrased.

“great men have little or zero introspection” maybe but even if factually true it’s correlation not causation great men were great despite not because of the lack of introspection. the rest of us need to introspect daily.

No large-cap asset has ever looked this strong against BTC this deep into a bear market. We've had brief lagging strength before post cycle top: - ETH/BTC early 18 - BNB/BTC post April 21 top if you count that as the major psychological BTC top What makes $HYPE different from almost every other altcoin in history is that it is setting a clean, price-discovery ATH vs BTC while Bitcoin is down roughly 40-50% from its peak. In every previous cycle (2018, 2022), a Top 20 altcoin would be down 60–80% against BTC by this point. Instead, HYPE is absorbing $300M+ unlocks and outperforming on real revenue ($800M+ ARR) and the HIP-6 ecosystem launch. I'm not expecting HYPE to have a completely easy free ride over the next 6 months, but we are seeing something unique. Without some major fud event, Hyperliquid's growing fundamentals & deflationary tokenomics (97% fee burn) should continue to see HYPE hold its own against Bitcoin in this bear market, which is something no large cap alt coin has ever done. Any major dips should be welcomed for bigger outperformance over the coming years.

Hard to tell when Mert is trolling, but it is good that unspecialised L2s are going to zero imo A healthy end state is a barbell with: 1. Low risk DeFi on ETH L1 - accrues value to the ETH asset 2. Specialised L2s built for usecases that the L1 just cannot service - speed, altVMs etc
Apoorv tweet media
mert@mert

think L2s have overcorrected to be underrated atm especially if you have a neutral base layer like Bitcoin or Ethereum, they make a lot of sense if you don't care to play politics or incentive games them not scaling well is mostly a skill issue that's easily fixable

@HansAmato Why do i feel lethargic the day after drinking alcohol? It's not just lack of sleep, i feel there must be some neurochemistry going on...

Alcohol doesn't "lower your inhibitions." It temporarily restores your GABA That's why the version of you that comes out after 3 drinks feels like the real you. Because it IS the real you. Your sober personality is the cage When your gut is destroyed and inflammation is chronic, GABA production tanks. GABA is the neurotransmitter that calms excitatory signaling. Without enough of it, your nervous system runs hot all the time. Everything feels like a threat. Social situations feel unsafe. Eye contact feels like confrontation. You overthink every word before you say it Then you drink. Alcohol binds to GABA receptors. Inhibitory tone floods back. Suddenly you're funny. Relaxed. Confident. Social. The person you always knew you were but couldn't access sober I was this guy for years. Couldn't talk to women without a drink. Couldn't relax at a party without 2 beers first. Sweating during basic social interactions. Built my entire social life around alcohol because it was the only way to feel normal What actually fixed it (not willpower, not "just stop drinking"): > Ate enough food. Red meat, potatoes, salt. Stopped chronic fasting which was keeping my body in survival mode and crushing GABA production > Fixed my gut. When the gut is inflamed, precursors to GABA don't get produced properly. Fix the gut, GABA comes back online > High dose agmatine. This was the single biggest shift in anxiety reduction I've experienced > Aspirin. Improved my temperature regulation (cold hands = low metabolic rate = low stress tolerance = anxious baseline) > Removed the triggers: chronic undereating, intermittent fasting, keto Sober me became the person drunk me used to be. Same confidence. Same humor. Same ease. No hangover If the only version of yourself you like requires alcohol to access, that person is real. The wall in front of him is biological. And it's fixable without a single drink I've written detailed guides on gut repair, GABA restoration, and everything I used to fix this on my substack. link in bio

In bear markets, Bitcoin will often spend more time going up than going down. When it does go down, it goes down very quickly, sets a low, then trends up for a few weeks/months before going lower. You can see the change in market structure from bull to bear.

Society is reflexive. The pushback you are now seeing re mRNA for pets is just one of what will soon be a torrent of societal pressure to reconstruct regulatory bodies in AI’s image.

First week messing around with peptides (low dose Reta) and the immediate impact to my desire to do certain things and not others is wild. Immediate shift from listening to podcasts to watching movies for the first time in years purely on listening to what releases the most dopamine which is the exact opposite of what I would have expected. Zero food noise despite starting at a low BF (11% targeting 6% over next two months) and so far still able to workout as usual. No side effects. Sleeping better. This stuff (so far) seems like all it’s cracked up to be. The human brain is fascinating.
