Pres. Kagame said he could not pay millions of dollars for someone else to talk about a country that had nothing. Instead, he believed Rwanda should focus on doing meaningful work first.

Back then, #Rwanda had almost nothing. The country was recovering from the tragedy of the 1994 Genocide Against the #Tutsi, and people were doing whatever they could to rebuild what had been lost and give hope to survivors.

His response was simple: “I would rather do good things and give people something meaningful to talk about.” That mindset says a lot about leadership, reputation, and long-term vision.

Pres. #Kagame narrated a story that will stay with people who want to understand leadership and nation-building. He said that in 1998, 1999, and the early 2000s, some people advised him to use lobbyists in Europe to speak positively about #RwandaWorks.

@JewswithRwanda It really doesn’t make sense. It’s hard to understand. Rumors have it that after sanctioning Kabila, Kinshasa is going to accept hundreds of migrants from the USA. This is yet to be confirmed.

Why actually solve the conflict in eastern DRC when it is just easier to sanction people? While I'm no Kabilaist, sanctioning, condemning & etc he (along with Rwanda) doesn't solve the fundamental issues of poor governance, ethnic-based violence & underdevelopment in the DRC...
