@lostnepeta your point sounds good in a vacuum, but fall apart in the face of reality. say we open a park in an underserved area. these areas tend to not have parks for a reason, because every time a park is opened there, it gets absolutely trashed. who’s gonna wanna pay for that?

@_trash_void some things that are unprofitable benefit the community. a park turns no profit and yet it’s hard to argue that a well maintained park does not have value. we deserve to enjoy nice things in our communities without it being tied to economic activity.

@_trash_void @mcsquared34 In US Army basic training, I met a young Vietnamese girl who had moved to the US only a couple years before, raised in Vietnam. It was her dream to be in the US Army that had fought alongside her grandfather in that war.
