@BubbleLad777 @jediramza The Church treats alcoholism as an illness, because that's what it is. Sin requires the ability to choose. Alcoholism is not a sin, it's a disease. If an alcoholic priest can't get over and past it, he's likely to be removed from ministry.

However, committing the same sin over and over and over (unwilling to repent and stop that sin) means you prefer that sin more than God. That should be disqualifying for any clergy member of any religion.
