Tatsuya Imai had his reverse slider WORKING this afternoon. The Astros’ new righty put up an absurd 86% whiff rate with that unusual slider. It is a unicorn pitch, that most models are going to struggle with. That does not mean it is bad. If anything, it means hitters are in trouble.

@kranepool @shegone03 This is incorrect The body cannot produce that kind of velocity/force (especially with a relatively small frame) with inefficient mechanics However, I will agree that this athletes longevity could be questionable Perhaps we are referring to two separate types of efficiencies

@shegone03 His mechanics are atrocious he has no fluidity to his wind up and release which effects his command he’s just throwing not pitching very troublesome
