The Soviets used minorities in all occupied countries. Gave them more political powers, and made those powers dependent on loyalty to Moscow. Not just the Gagauz, but for example also Polish minority in Lithuania. Most famous example are Armenians and Azerbaijanis.

I find it amusing at just how much hatred there is towards France, because when you think about it, they ought to be the allies MAGA pretends they want:
1) they have and fund their own military, including their own nuclear weapons and defence industry/ production.
2) they share intel with the U.S.
3) they don’t have American bases on their soil that are supposedly draining the American taxpayer.
4) they opposed the war in Iraq, which is something that JD Vance - they current sitting Vice President of the United States of America said that ALL Europeans should have done.
So what’s the problem?

The thing that @landeur doesn't understand is that America is Europe's stabilizer. Without our presence, they'd devolve into their cycle of bi-generational autogenocide in 5 years. America is the only thing that keeps half the population of Europe lying dead on a French battlefield every 40 years.
