The unreasonable "Burn it all to the ground" approach to all situations from this gender is something I find quite amusing.
Some of us are level headed enough to see that there are other ways to handle a situation than razing the roof.
If I get direct with you, that's because I still care and I want to hear a reason that'd convince me to stay but deciding to stay away is because I have perceived you as a dangerous person already and the friendship is not worth saving.
Also, you want me to go in all gun-blazing with someone I had just invested my life savings with? E good now

My girlfriend then (Now ex) will always ask me if my best friend was aware that he was my best friend. The question always sounds weird to me but I'd dismissed it.
One day while we were on the phone, I was speaking highly of my friend over a situation we just handled, she got angry and yelled "Can you just stop talking about him like that?" I got mad too cos I was tired of her having issues with him for no reason. In the heat of the argument, she sent me multiple explicit pictures of him he had been sending to her.
Before I could process what I was seeing, she sent in screenshots of their conversations, the terrible things he had said about me to her and how he was a better choice than me.
Apparently, she had been wanting to tell me about it for long but she saw how blinded I was about the brotherhood, so she needed a solid evidence.
Did I confront him over it? lol nah
Till date, I never mentioned it to him, I just drifted away from the friendship.
This happened in 2017 but I still keep in touch (both of them) till date.

@sledge_baba direct confrontation is for many things, not just the one thing you listed. it’d be convenient but it’s not. you decided not to protect your girl. she was being harassed by your bestie & you decided to react w silence. at least you protected what’s important, your money.

This scenario may be an outlier, I know very well and I’ve seen scenarios like this play out countless times where the guy would confront and fist fight if possible to teach the other a lesson.
The question at the end of the day is what would you want to achieve? Letting the person know they did wrong that they obviously knew they did? And then what next? The person becomes a new leaf? People who move like this hardly change.
My p with the original post was “cowardice”, yes, there are cowards who would not do a thing and die it down. However, there are others who would take the other route and that doesn’t mean cowardice but you wouldn’t know because you do not know that person as much as you think.
I’m of the opinion that stupid people should be left in stupid places. I like the concept of letting guilt deal with you by putting you in your place without a word. The biggest thing for me would be you realizing your mistake and owning up and apologizing to my gf.
