I'm a bit perplexed at some of the takes I'm seeing regarding Champions not having unevolved Pokémon at launch Like, SV didn't have Clefairy for 10 months, Porygon2 for 13, Incineroar for 13 and you didn't have people saying it can't be the place for competitive due to it?

if you watched fuslie get into VGC, she took way too much time to prep for it and she still gets moves and type charts wrong. its pretty normal

Removing all of that not only restricts fun strategies in vgc, but makes stuff like little cup, draft leagues, restricted formats, etc etc less assessable to mess around with

the beginner doesn't have time to worry about these yet. let them learn about stat bumps, splits, and the game first

@KryZenDesigner @Mermaid_Dork quite frankly it's not a day 1 thing. i'm not saying they are completely right, but it is hard to determine what eviolite pokemon are strong. you wouldnt think magmar, electabuzz, porygon2, clefairy, and murkrow are STRONG pokemon. no beginner thinks that.

If you actually read my replies you would know that I addressed the whole "people hate incineroar too" logic and how it is a false equivalence because unlike prim the reasons incineroar was hated were unrelated to its gender coding

@JoeMerrick I get where you're coming from but the issue isn't that not every Pokémon won't be available to begin with, it's that certain won't be available at all. P2 and clefairy are used in vgc far more than their evolutions, so their exclusion doesn't make sense in the context of champs
