@r2Jamong 항상 좋은 글로 만나 뵙고 있습니다. :) 만날 뵐 기회를 한 번 놓쳤더니 ㅠㅠ 조만간 현실에서 커피탐 하시죠.

2025 회고 이 모든게 1년안에 일어난 일들 이라는게 믿기지 않을 정도로 많은 일들이 있었던 2025년을 돌아봅니다. 1. 미국 올해 4월~6월 뉴욕에 홀로 파견 근무를 다녀왔습니다. 2달 반 정도 되는 짧은 기간 이었지만, 전 세계에서 가장 자유롭고 기회가 많은 도시에서 짧게나마 살아볼수 있었던 것은 저에게 참 소중한 경험이 되었습니다. 시차가 정 반대인 아는사람 하나 없는 곳에서 혼자 있다는 것에서 오는 난생 처음 느껴보는 고독 마저도 가치가 있었습니다. 2. 야핑 어쩌다 보니 14년째 개발자 일을 할고 있지만, 오래 전부터 저는 글로 돈을 버는 일을 하고싶었습니다. 블로그도 해보고 웹소설 써서 플랫폼에 연재도 해봤는데, 업이라기 보다는 취미에 가까운 수익이었습니다. 야핑은 글로 본업 수준의 (혹은 더 많은) 수익을 벌게 해준 기회였습니다. 크립토에 관심있는 새로운 분들을 알게되고, 팔로워도 늘어 제가 쓴 글이 더 많은 사람들에게 닿을수 있게 되었다는 점에서 수익 그 이상의 성과라고 생각합니다. 3. 딸 4월 둘째주, 제가 혼자 뉴욕에 도착하고 몇일 뒤 아내가 아무 말 없이 사진 한장을 카톡으로 보냈습니다. 아기 초음파 사진이었죠. 우리 부부에게 아이가 생긴 것입니다. 그리고 올해 12월 2일 딸아이가 태어났습니다. 생각보다 자식을 낳고 육아를 한다는 것은 많은 희생과 포기가 필요한 일이었습니다. 이 아이의 행복을 위해서는 제가 고집스럽게 지켜오던 욕심들(성공한 커리어, 큰 부자가되어야한다는 욕심 등)을 얼마든지 포기할수 있을것 같았습니다. 그리고 그렇게 하기로 결정했습니다. 4. 회사의 청산 (스타트업) A41은 아무것도 없던 초기부터 함께해 이더리움 밸리데이터 점유의 2.5%까지 3년 넘게 같이 키워온 스타트업입니다. 회사가 사업을 접게 되었다는 이야기를 아이가 태어나기 3주 전 알게 되었습니다. 그 이유나 과정의 옳고 그름을 여기서 이야기 하지는 않겠습니다. 오랜 시간 함께 일한 동료들을 한순간에 잃게 되었다는 사실은 마치 오랜 연인과의 갑작스러운 이별과 매우 비슷한 상실감을 줍니다. 저는 30대 후반이라는 늦은 나이에 3년간 스타트업에 제 삶을 갈아넣었습니다. 그리고 저도 눈치채지 못한 사이 갑자기 회사는 문을 닫게됩니다. 이제 1~2년이 지나면 A41이라는 회사는 업계에서 완전히 이름조차 지워질 것이고, 제 3년의 노력과 경력은 사라지게 될 것입니다. 하지만 제가 여기서 했던 "일"과 "사람"은 제 자산으로 남습니다. 4년 전 이 업계에 시니어 엔지니어가 드물던 시절, 저는 10년간 삼성에서 개발자로 일하던 "경험" 하나를 무기로 실력보다 더 좋은 대우를 받으며 크립토 업계에서 일을 시작할수 있었습니다. 그리고 A41에 제 3년을 갈아넣었고, 회사가 성장하며 글로벌 탑 밸리데이터였기에 다룰수 있던 기술들을 무기로 트위터도 빠르게 키울수 있었습니다. 저는 더이상 업계에서 특별히 경험이 많은 개발자도 아니고, 이더리움 2.5%를 운영하는 밸리데이터도 아닙니다. 집에서 육아하는 백수 아빠일 뿐이죠. 제가 이전에 휘둘렀던 무기들은 이제 더이상 통하지 않을 것입니다. 제가 다음을 준비하기 위한 새로운 무기들을 미리 벼려두지 않았다면 지금 훨씬 더 불안했을 것입니다. 모든 스타트업이 토스, 배민, 당근마켓이 될수는 없습니다. 본인이 창업을 하는게 아닌이상, 스타트업의 끝에서 결국 남는건 "나 자신" 뿐입니다. 6. 내려놓음 생각해보니 저는 쉬어본적이 없습니다. 재수도 한적 없고, 군입대 빼고는 휴학도 해본 적 없고, 졸업후 곧바로 취업해 13년을 쉬지않고 일했습니다. 몇년째 일만 한다고 제 자신과 가정에 소홀했던 저에게 마침 딸이 생겼고, 또 마침 회사가 문을 닫게된 것은 우연 일까요? 난생 처음으로 제 자신보다 더 소중한 존재가 생겼습니다. 어차피 이렇게 된 마당에 이 친구를 위해 채워갈 새로운 것들을 위해서라도 나를 비워내야할 필요가 있습니다. 2026년 딱 한해 만큼은 채우기 위해 치열하기 보다는, 비워내고 돌아보는 해로 만들어갈 생각입니다. 모두 한해 고생 많으셨고 2026년도 잘 부탁드립니다.

Gmonad everyone! I’ve been sitting in front of my keyboard for quite some time, trying to find the perfect way to begin this message. But I would like to share that next Monday will be my last day at Monad Foundation. Exactly nineteen months ago, I joined Monad as the APAC Lead to work on practically everything related to the Asia Pacific market. I was the first hire in the region, and at that time, the entire company had around 30 people. There was so much to build, and I truly enjoyed every initiative we worked on—from Monad 101s across different cities to hosting Monad Madness in Bangkok and Hong Kong. What made my job even more exciting was the incredible support from community members across so many countries. I still believe the Nads will be a superpower and a source of magic for Monad—probably even more so now with mainnet live. Working at Monad Foundation has been one of the best experiences of my career—not only because we were driving real innovation in this industry, but even more because I genuinely liked the people I had the privilege to work with. The collaborations, the challenges we tackled together, and the big and small moments we shared are memories I will carry with me for a long time. It is always very difficult to say goodbye, especially when you’ve enjoyed your time with colleagues you truly admire. I also have to admit that I’m leaving much earlier than I would have expected. But a new opportunity came at the right time—one that I believe will help me continue to grow. I’ll be able to share more about my next chapter next week. My sincere thanks to all my colleagues at Monad Foundation—especially @keoneHD and @0x_eunice , who have supported me from the very beginning until today. And to all the OG members who grinded our youth together - @intern @0x_Abdul , @Joey_Anthony_ , @billmondays @thetinaverse @cryptunez and ALL THE APAC-based team members, especially those I worked closely with on a daily basis: @michael_lwy , @lulu70191243 , @Harveycww , @EforNad , @jinglingcookies , @FishMarketAcad , @spicytaco and @d3t3 . Although I could not mention all the names, I'll separately reach out! I’ll still be around and will always be a fan of the Monad ecosystem, so let’s definitely keep in touch.
