Spurs have signed Robertson and Senesi. If Spurs sign Tonali and Van Hecke, we might have to consider the possibility that RDZ is telling players we're gonna win the league.

@Mr_Giller We have something you’ll never understand, American exceptionalism. We always want to be the best at everything and that’s why we succeed when others fail.

I do realise that this doesn’t describe every American. But why does the stereotype American desperately needs the US to be the best at everything? Even if they’re not, they “would be” if the just cared enough🤣
Mr. Matt@mbs59er

The only reason why the US doesn’t win every World Cup is because our best athletes choose football, baseball, basketball, and hockey over soccer It’s like we are sending our 5th string up against everyone else’s best

@LFCAmericanReds If they took it as seriously as the rest of us they'd be amongst the best, it wouldn't be the 7 ft 3" basketballers or 20 stone egg chasers playing though.

The whole “if the USA’s best athletes played soccer, we’d be the best in the world” take is perhaps the biggest example of missing the point I’ve ever seen in the sports world.

@OisinMul_ Brits can’t comprehend that Americans have pitchside seats but also m stadiums with innovations. We constantly try and innovate EVERYTHING We don’t settle on “that’s how it’s done”. It’s why we’re the world’s economic & technological hegemonic power and why the UK is so poor.

Brighton are nowhere near the level of spurs in terms of size of club. Two years of underperformance doesn’t undo an entire history of club comparison and potential. Highlighted by the fact both Bournemouth and Brighton have been far better run and performed far better the last two years yet spurs still have a European trophy and are about to take the best defender from both of them. Vuskovic should only leave on a permanent to a club that’s same size of spurs or bigger.
FPLCommissioner@CommissionerFpl

@hbrooks_coach you could probably argue Brighton are a higher level than Sp*rs based off the last couple seasons though...

The season is over, Spurs survived, yet their fans are still in meltdown - this time because ickle Brighton have had the 'audacity' to make a bid for a player who hasn't played for them yet. Weird.

Sinn Fein bringing people onto the streets close to an interface area. Highly irresponsible, but of course: nationalist protests are good; unionist protests are bad.

I keep reading us protestants are immigrants but we're not, my ancestors just moved from one part of the country to another. Henry VIII became King of Ireland in 1541, the country was fully under English control. It was still under English rule when my ancestors moved here in the 17th Century. They did not emigrate, they just moved the same way someone from Scotland could move to England or Wales today without being considered an immigrant. When the Republic of Ireland was formed the people of Northern Ireland chose to remain part of the United Kingdom.

Bellingham is not this superstar that the pundits are banging on about. It’s arguable that he’s not as good as he was at 19 when he broke into the team. I think he’s not progressing since he’s gone to Madrid from Dortmund

@tuckers_table @owenjonesjourno Sort of yes on one (they will be targeted for being Catholic, not for being republican), and no on two (plenty of Catholics have been burnt out long before migration was anyones concern).

@botname7259 @owenjonesjourno You think that loyalists are going to start attacking republicans? And if they are, you are admitting that it was all kicked off again through mass immigration?

1 in 20 Catholic families were burned out of their homes in Belfast in 1969. As one scholar put it, at the time it was "the largest forced population movement in Western Europe since the Second World War."

This is a perfect example of the sectarian lens used in Ireland to view the conflict and it's a big reason why Irish pro palestinians are so unbelievably obsessed with Israel and Jews. People in Ireland are being radicalised against Israel because they project what the UK historically did onto Middle Eastern Jews. Despite our histories being completely different in pretty much all aspects. When Irish people view it in this sectarian lens, they are much more likely to disregard Jewish history and our quest for survival, while taking in and trusting the views from people who hate us. This inevitably results in bigotry against the Jewish people. The Jews are not the English, and the Palestinians are not the Irish.

Irish pro-Pals did a “Great March for Gaza” and seems not everyone in Ireland is on board.
