@LordBalthazar85 @2147mill Yeah all valid points. I was more posting to point out that the OPs statement isn’t a black and white statement of fact like it’s made out to be.

@brag___ @2147mill What’s your LTV, interest rate and term length? Those things make a huge impact on the mortgage payment and without them you can’t really say very much either way on rent vs mortgage. (I still agree but just based on what I’ve seen but you get the point)

Unpopular opinion: Renting and investing the difference beats buying in most UK cities right now. £2,000/month mortgage vs £1,400 rent Difference: £600/month into ISA 15 years later: ISA at 8%: £207,000 tax-free Meanwhile the homeowner has an interest bill and a £400 monthly maintenance average. The maths matters.

@letstri @zeddotdev Try using typescript 7 in both - the go based binary as completely eliminated any performance issues for me. It’s still Beta - but close to release. There’s an rc candidate on the GitHub

Many people ask why I decided to switch to @zeddotdev at all. There are several reasons. 1. I just want a new editor. I've been on VS Code/Cursor for about 7 years. 2. Zed is obviously faster. TypeScript in Cursor takes a very long time to load. 3. Because of the boom in AI clients like @opencode and Claude Code, I'm less attached to the editor and can try new things. 4. Zed has little things that improve DX and looks nicer because of its rendering engine.
Valerii Strilets 🇺🇦@letstri

I never thought I would ever be able to switch to another editor, but it's time to move on.

@aakashgupta “Distribution beats integration” Not wrong. But also ignores that cursors harness is industry leading (e.g. opus is better in cursor than Claude) and their own Composer 1.5/2.0 models are excellent for 95% of coding tasks.

This The math on Cursor's $50B round should mass-humble every enterprise software CEO. $2B ARR from roughly 150 employees. That is $13M per person. Google generates $1.9M. Meta generates $2.3M. Nvidia, the most capital-efficient mega-cap in history, generates $4.3M. Cursor is 3x Nvidia on a per-head basis at a fraction of the scale. Two years ago they had zero revenue. Four MIT classmates building a VS Code fork. January 2025 crossed $100M ARR. June 2025, $500M. November 2025, $1B. February 2026, $2B. Slack took five years to hit $1B. Zoom took five. Cursor did it in 23 months from first dollar. Now scale that. Fortune 500 adoption is already past 50%. Enterprise accounts are roughly 60% of revenue, a segment that barely existed 18 months ago. The November round priced Cursor at $29.3B. This round prices them at $50B pre-money, a 70% markup in five months on a company already trading at 25x ARR. The part every wrapper skeptic got wrong: Cursor is renting the intelligence. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google are the suppliers. Those same suppliers now ship Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI as direct competitors. Every wrapper thesis said Cursor was finished once the model companies shipped their own apps. Cursor's ARR doubled in three months. Distribution beat integration.

@JakubSmal78647 @EllesmereGaming You put a shit driver in a fast race car - you’ll get slow lap times. Put a skilled driver in the same fast car - you get quick lap times. Not the car’s fault.

@JakubSmal78647 @EllesmereGaming That’s a failure of developers to review the AI generated code and iterate on it. Blindly accepting AI output or accepting it without making effort to understand it - is user error.

Hey guys, quick update on EllesmereUI! This one’s less about features and more about AI. I know it’s is a touchy subject for many, so I want to be upfront about how much I’m using it. As EUI rapidly expands, I’ve found myself relying more heavily on AI. I’m putting in 16+hr a day, but even with dedicating my entire life to it, it’s just too massive to expand and maintain alone. This doesn’t mean I’m not extremely hands on still, but it does mean that a large amount of the codebase is managed by AI, even if I am guiding and helping it and checking its work thoroughly. Since vibecoding is a hot topic around addon creation, and I’ve noticed myself leaning on AI more and more, I want to just keep you guys in the loop about EUI’s usage of AI. On the results side tho, performance has never been better. Leveraging AI more has helped me push optimizations to extremes and improve overall stability. With proper guidance and oversight, it’s allowed me to start actually getting some sleep again (occasionally) I get people can be hesitant about AI managed codebases, which is the purpose of this tweet. Hope this helps keep things transparent

@EllesmereGaming Not understanding the fundamental differences between productivity tools and creative tools when it comes to AI. Its basically the same as someone who doesn't understand the fundamental differences between a tractor and a ferrari when it comes to automotives. Very different.

@EllesmereGaming AI code copilots are a productivity tool. So are great for helping write code, scale software and keep code quality high. As a software developer, you should be using AI by now AI used in creativity tools is a more touchy subject. The two things are very different.

That’s basically vanilla WoW. And it was actually fun when you get sent on a quest to the other side of the world without flying mounts! Still remember vividly the journey I took with my friends to go from Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor, running and battling through PvP territories, taking the boat, landing in a completely different looking area… such good times. Never had that experience again in later MMOs.

@MrBubblyTTV I am convinced it is bugged in some way. Because surely of the thousands of players and raids being run people forget to insure top line items periodically. Or they swap out the receiver and forget to insure the receiver itself.

@JannFortuna @tarkov IIRC prestige one you keep 10%. So if maxed out - you go back to level 5 str/endur? That suuuucks. Mainly because it skills take sooo long to level.

@BoRi7os The difference being they’d already won multiple majors with Nadeshot. After the disappointment at champs, Nade himself wanted to step away from comp and then allow the upgrade to Karma. Falcons haven’t won anything with Exnid - and I assume exnid doesn’t want to leave?

The Falcons situation sort of reminds me of H3cz with NaDeSHoT. Do you keep the popular franchise player, stick to the grassroots & prioritize that over winning with someone better? Whatever route they go I don't really care but thought that was interesting. This example alone is why it should be Pred over Exnid for the 4th spot (if the rumours are everything they say they are). If after a year and half of playing we don't have this fundamental trait down, there's not more that can be said -- Imo this one thing supersedes any of Pred's bad traits.

@MovieFlameProd Realistically - nearly all of these changes can be argued as acceptable, due to the runtime constraints of movies. Having a series, with naturally much longer run times will allow all those things to be better explored. We shouldnt be looking at the two mediums in competition

We need to stop pretending the movies were perfect adaptations. They sucked in a lot of ways. Just to list a few things they fucked up off the top of my head: -Ruined Ron in favor of Hermione -Ginny was not Ginny -Made HBP a comedy when it should have been the second or third darkest film -Removed all the mystery aspects from GOF when it was written as a mystery book -Removed almost all of the Voldemort memories (one of the most important parts of the main villain) -Didn’t get the Quidditch World Cup -Missed 80% of Quidditch games at Hogwarts -Made those who haven’t read the books want Harry & Hermione together (Have Steve Kloves to thank for that) -Took away Grindelwald’s redemption in favor of making him tell Voldemort to kill Dumbledore instead -Completely changed Sirius’s character in OOTP And I could list 50 other things that they didn’t have time to cover, and I’ll probably think of another 20 things they messed up if I actually sit down and think about it. The movies were great, but let’s not pretend they’re perfect.

Why are they remaking Harry Potter when there's no problem with the current movies?
