As a child, I remember my mother crying about the horrors of the death camps and how badly Jews were treated. If she were alive now, she would be wailing.

Smashing or defacing any religious symbol just seems petty or childish, but if people want to do it, let them at it.
They should be asked one question first - would they publicly burn a copy of the Koran? Their answer will tell you everything you need to know.

Belgium’s publicly funded youth radio station, Studio Brussel (VRT), featured a sketch in which its breakfast presenters smashed various items on air, including a statue of Our Lady and Jesus. I asked if they were concerned it would cause offence, and if they would do the same to a symbol of Islam or Judaism.

The arson attack on Jewish volunteer ambulances in Golders Green was absolutely shocking but that attack in no way justifies members of the Jewish community there harassing and abusing journalists trying to do their jobs.

My message to this Government is simple: show determination and ban the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Britain must not tolerate those who threaten lives on our shores, and for years the IRGC has threatened people on British soil. Our security services have already foiled around 20 Iranian-linked plots involving sabotage and assassination here in the UK. That should concern every one of us.
Yet despite repeated calls across Parliament, the IRGC is still not proscribed. Defence of the realm begins with the defence of our own country. If an organisation is threatening, intimidating and pursuing people here in Britain, we should act. Proscribing the IRGC would give our security services stronger powers to disrupt and stop those responsible.
