@FavourYusuf1 But fragmentation only really matters because of pricing. If pricing didn't matter people would just buy every steaming service and so it wouldn't be much of an issue.

I’ve always believed that piracy has never been about price. It’s a response to bad UX. We just need to look at how music consumption evolved over the years to see the pattern Music piracy used to be huge back in the early 2000’s, but with the rise of music streaming, it naturally fell off. Why would I want to download 100 songs when I can pay Spotify 900 and access every song ever made? Imagine if you could only access Wizkid’s on Spotify, Burna Boy on Apple Music and Davido on YouTube music? It makes sense to just download it offline and listen. Same thing with movies. Netflix when it launched, reduced movie piracy drastically. It is the fragmentation across multiple services that ultimately brought it back. Anywhere piracy is high, it is usually because there is no easy way to access the content being pirated

Okay streaming is actually THE WORST THING TO HAPPEN TO TELEVISION!!! I've searched netflix, prime video and apple tv to find a tv show. it's on Apple TV but only with a Starz subscription. This is why people are justifying piracy cause really how many subscriptions do I want?

@JourneymenDev @Justin_Neagle Pointing out the mega-corp only cares about money doesn't make you smart. Pretty much every company ultimately only cares about money and you won't be able to change that. If someone kept pointing out they'll die eventually they'll still be 'miserable' despite it being true.

Fight Card Showdown comes out in Spring 2026!
@citricscience @Justin_Neagle You'd be miserable too if you possessed common sense & basic pattern recognition but all of your warnings fell on deaf ears every single time. Then again, you'd still be less miserable than the people who trust mega-corps at their word, only to get screwed & look dumb later on.

@abyss_chris @rc_1137 @Matty_OW I'm not saying a forfeit option is even good. I just think suggesting there is no merit whatsoever is dumb and your comparison failed to take context into account. Real sports also have actual time limits, especially when played casually.

When will Deadlock add a forfeit option? I get that it's a great mindset to have to believe that every game is turnable, but you have to admit that sometimes it's a massive waste of time.

@Kneelku @DeeWaynee94 The point I was trying to make is that God isn't a solution if you don't suggest a mechanism for the creation process. Our whole understanding of creating things is of putting things together to make new things. That last part is my point.

@citricscience @DeeWaynee94 That’s a non-sequitur. The idea that something can’t come from nothing doesn’t entail that the first cause needed materials to create the something in question. That would only beg the question of what created those materials.

“Something can’t come from nothing” always gets waved around like a trump card, then suddenly their god is allowed to exist without explanation. Convenient little exemption for the main character.

@abyss_chris @rc_1137 @Matty_OW That's such a dumb comparison. In actual sports people can actually get to know their team and there are consequences to bad performance.

@rc_1137 @Matty_OW Absolutely. Forfeit is just bullshit for team games. Imagine other sports crying about no Forfeit existing like soccer or basketball. Its such a modern gamer concept. Also if you want to be an ass you can forfeit, just leave the game.

@RobertSecundus I personally just really hate capitalising normal words. In the full text I would probably not mind it but having 3 examples of it right next to eachother in such a short passage really annoys me.

@caitkiramma People seem to have this weird belief that romantic relationships are always the strongest. A parent choosing to save their child over their partner would not mean they want to be in a romantic relationship with them or that they don't love their partner.

That’s crazy I didn’t know China’s censorship laws against queer relationships had a loophole for incest. Also that musical is worth dirt considering they cut out Ambessa and Ekko.

@floatovertrees @bo_austin_ Fundamentally I agree but I also feel like often people don't even try to find meaning in things. Just because you don't immediately see value in a conversation doesn't mean you won't later.

@bo_austin_ what i'm saying is, it's ok to say something like "i'm sorry, it's not really my thing, i don't understand the importance of this and i can't contribute to the conversation" and change the topic to something both parties are interested in. or you can ask: "why is this important?"

@InterspeciesFa1 @WestAnd90458 @boreddeleuzian Your post is pretty ironic. You sound very defensive. It's almost like your ego has been damaged. "Two-faced" is such an interesting insult considering it just implies they can use two modes of communication simultaneously.

@WestAnd90458 @boreddeleuzian A lot of my social training has been to figure out that normal people are often petty, two-faced, cowardly, immoral, cruel, prone to grudges, and with intensely fragile egos. The moment I make the mistake of respecting or admiring one, I will "miss social cues".

@NoBananaBB @boreddeleuzian This an interesting interpretation that does make a lot of sense. I think it goes both ways. Some people just prefer different methods of communication but that doesn't necessarily make any way better.

@boreddeleuzian Socialising got way easier once I realised that neurotypicals do all their weird repetitive rituals and social 'norms' , because they don't know how to socialise properly without scaffolds to accommodate their social deficits and communication issues

@deadlifthater @JeshRedux @83dollaroring Maybe that's true but it's also probably how a lot of people see whatever you talk about. Just because it's not interesting to you doesn't mean it's bland. I've had plenty of conversations I wasn't initially interested in but that become more interesting to me as they went on.

@kirkneverdied I ask because that is exactly how YouTube operated between 2005 and 2015. It grew, developed a customer base, it even profited handsomely. And this is what happened after they gave people options...

@metro85 @voidyfrown Nowhere did I say that any game dev is infallible, my favorite games have blatant mistakes happen in them as well, but Riftbound is making the same mistakes those other devs have already learned from when the industry is extremely competitive right now. They need to do better.

@Syntex3666 @Oreos_solo Toph proves non-benders can give birth to benders. How are they supposed to figure out if they can bend or not? Is everyone trained to bend or are there just 60 year olds who can bend but never realised?

@Oreos_solo This is literally bullshit, avatars don’t even grow up knowing they’re the avatar because the other elements do not manifest like powers randomly, they have to actually learn them. This is basic shit that as always, Korra completely tosses out the fucking window in writing…

@huGOAT_______ @Beo_Arctodus Those things are still rare in tlok though. ATLA even implies that lightning generation was a secret guarded by the Royal family and as such is probably not actually that rare. You don't seem to realise that obviously the avatar is going to mainly deal with skilled fighters.

@Beo_Arctodus That was the premise of the entire show. ALL the things that are rare exceptions like lightning bending, metal bending, spiritual power and shotcuts in the avatar journey are made common. They made the rules of the world and trew it away to remake it antes, and it sucks
