I’ve known Eric Swalwell for several years. We’ve texted recently, spoken, and I hosted his wife at a major Democratic function several years ago in Florida when I was still a member and active in the party.
This isn’t easy to say, but the disturbing allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, unethical behavior with lobbyists, and some truly troubling comments, are too serious to ignore.
For the sake of those women, for a nation already in turmoil, and for basic integrity in public service, Eric must immediately withdraw from the California governor’s race and resign from Congress.
Accountability matters to me no matter who you are, even those I have supported and stood by for years.

If I’m wrong and Swalwell is guilty as charged, I’ll eat my words and do a mea culpa. But so far I’ve seen zero evidence - just very suspiciously timed accusations. This is why people are supposed to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
