Many liberals just don’t know the gritty details of what they’re talking about. I was a soft-on-crime guy when I was picturing a starving orphan stealing bread. When I learned that death-row criminals are mostly guilty of things like “raped a 72 year old woman to death” I stopped caring about their rights or feelings.

@ArtemisConsort You say they miss that yet you miss the nuances of the arguments yourself. Most are anti death penalty because of the fact that we’ve killed many innocent people. But I’m definitely fine with locking up rapists and murderers for life.

They’re also changing Montana in the process. I’ve lived in deep blue and deep red states. Both have their issues. Right now with teenagers I sure wish we actually had good infrastructure and enough law enforcement since this state seems to be one of the most unsafe places to drive in the country.

Montana has gone redder than it has in decades because every right wing person from blue states wants to come live out their Yellowstone dream. But they also aren’t the same as the average Montana born conservative that tends to have more libertarian and independent leanings. Think Christian Nationalists vs Ron Paul types. Also, oddly many locals think the transplants moving here are city libs even though all the voter data and the general vibe of the state has taken a hard turn right.
