@tris_does_stuff @metabolic_print I don’t think he’s suggesting 2 sets per muscle group per week. Just per exercise. Nobody needs 15-25 sets per muscle group per week. That’s ridiculous junk volume. The extra gains are so minimal with that much volume and possibly detrimental to recovery.

I thought the 2 sets to failure thing was just a meme
but honestly i'm never going back

Metabolic Blueprint ⚡@metabolic_print
A lot of people are training hard while recovery, sleep energy and life suffer heavily. You can keep performing for a while like that, but you are digging a deeper hole. Sometimes, cutting back can be the most pro-metabolic move you can make. Article linked in first reply.

After 11 years of an amazing family owned dental practice that was 5 mins from my place, cleanings every 3 months, no cavities, take very good care of my teeth, the practice was sold during COVID to a PE firm and all the dentists were swapped out with the most slimy fucks ever. Was asked to find another dentist after I refused an x ray (temporarily I told them would do so next visit) they flipped out, forced me to “talk to the dentist” who refused to look me in the eyes kept giving me excuses with why I was forced to do the x ray right now, it was genuinely bizarre. Still on the hunt for a new spot

Not that anyone cares about your opinion of Trump, since you obviously voted for Kamala, the most unelectable candidate to ever run for President.
But the last two decades of incompetent foreign policy and leadership are what caused this terrorist nightmare in Iran.
Trump is the only one who's had the balls to clean up the mess.

@feioustudio @amorriscode I send all knowledge work to Code. Why should I have to remember to switch tabs to Cowork for that? What benefit would Cowork give me that Code can’t already do?
English

@amorriscode the "Cowork → knowledge work / Code → building" distinction is the clearest I've seen it articulated. most people conflate them and then wonder why their AI assistant can't follow a complex codebase. they're different tools for different cognitive modes.
English

@amorriscode @chrisbalt This isn’t obvious at all. I just send everything to Code and it seems to work fine. Cowork seems to be redundant unless it can do things that Code can’t? I even use Code for general chatting. Why even separate the three tbh?
English

@chrisbalt Cowork -> knowledge work tasks
Code -> building

@ConradEduard @Romy_Holland It’s not a skill issue, it’s an affordability issue. Ask me how I know…daycare and mortgage leave nothing left at the end of the month. Stuff was a LOT more affordable when my parents had me relative to their take home pay.
English

I agree. But it's more important to make sure kids are able prepared to care of themselves. 1) make sure they are educated and trained for a skill. 2) make sure they learn how to work hard. 3) make sure they understand early on at what point they are expected to be able to financially take care of themselves.
English

i don’t feel like my parents owe me any inheritance and would be happy for them if they had fun spending all of their retirement savings.
but i also feel really good about the prospect of leaving my own children money that would make their lives easier, and thru this lens the boomer behavior of taking cruises while your kids are struggling to afford daycare and houses and stuff seems strange.
like maybe when my baby is grown up i’ll feel differently, but i doubt it? i find myself wanting to promise him that as long as i live i want to help him and be there for him.
English

@ConradEduard @Romy_Holland Parents should financially take care of their kids until their kids can financially take care of their parents. It’s something Asian cultures do incredibly well that western cultures can’t seem to grasp.
English

That's all sounds fine and dandy. But I, as a 62 year old, look at it this way. First of all, I spent a small fortune educating my kids, it was always my first priority. 2nd, I should have enough to make it through retirement, but it's not quite assured. 3rd, sooner or later a kid will have a real crisis and will truly need help. I'd like to keep my powder dry. 4th, nothing wrong with doing a bit of traveling.

@BasedBiohacker Sincerely interested in your thoughts on aspartame and acesulfame potassium
English

@bodybuildingwk @tuCpakoa The fact that nerve related back pain isn’t very top of this list immediately tells me it’s a bullshit list.
English

@tuCpakoa Where is sciatica? Worst pain I have ever felt.
English

@AppartDesign Are the photos AI or something? What’s going on with the second photo with the chairs and the flower pots?
English

@BasedBiohacker Or you can just take a single Vyvanse which is 10x better than your stack

@YawnyLion @banteg Same on the L5/S1 from rowing but never got the surgery. How’s your back now?
English

@banteg I rowed on college club team with guy who went from never been in a shell to holding 2k m erg world record in a few years. We worked these hard. I blew out L5/S1 disc during a time trial after 9mo of form coaching then had a bad back surgery. Be careful: legs, timing, form

@EthanCopple @2112Power It’s a decent idea if you don’t have an orangutan president threatening tariffs via tweet during his morning dumps.
English

@2112Power It's a decent idea if you don't have 7,000 mile fragile supply chains based in an adversarial country.
The implementation didn't evolve past the post-war, 1960's world.
English

@Wellseee_ @penguin_curator It has nothing to do with technical analysis or levels. The orange monkey can’t keep his mouth shut about tariffs.
English

@penguin_curator That 109k rejection was brutal. Classic liquidity grab above 110k before the dump. These fake breakouts are getting more violent - might be a sign we're closer to a real move than people think.
English

@BRICSinfo Get ready to pay double for groceries, your iPhone, and car repairs. 130% tariffs are an economic nuclear bomb. The market just crashed 878 points on the news. But sure, let's all pretend this is fine.

@_TomHoward Seems like Zcash is superior to BTC in every way except brand name. What’s your view as a long term investment ?
English

Most people don't know this yet - Monero isnt encrypted its just trying to obfuscate.
Incomparable to Zcash which is literally encrypted Bitcoin
The Crypto Dog 📈@TheCryptoDog
Arguing about $ZEC, $XMR and cypherpunk values is an immensely refreshing change of discourse from the trench talk that has dominated the past couple years.
