Respect to my guys here, but re: the WBB situation, this is not a "nuanced" conversation.
-WBB is no longer a niche sport; it's mainstream
-other schools spending 3-4x on WBB NIL is not a reason to keep him; it's evidence of his failure to adopt (and fight for) NIL
-yesterday's success isn't a shield for accountability today
-in any other context, this kind of mass exodus is the red flag of all red flags

@EustachysCoke @StephCopley Exactly when times get tough people like her turn on the ones that have loved them in the past! I guarantee you I went to more women’s games than she did last year! There’s tons of cyclone fans that love women’s basketball and it shows with attendance!

This is a must listen. We’re so lucky to have Coach & the amazing program he’s built. Crazy to think he coached players I idolized & now he’s coaching players my girls will idolize. That’s an insane level of sustained success (and of course @brentblum has the stats to back it).

@JR3_Cyco @StephCopley Completely agree. I love having the women’s basketball team be good and I think we should explore all options that keep them in that national stage! There’s a reason us cyclones continue to support them with one of the best schools in attendance every year! Just want to enjoy it!

@cycloneterry @StephCopley This ain’t it, Terry. The 4 cornerstone sports at Iowa State are football, men’s basketball, wrestling, and women’s basketball. All current criticisms of the WBB program are absolutely valid and deserve discussion.

@CollinHumps University of Iowa isn’t a fake Ag school. We offer zero ag courses. Our helmets have the ANF logo as a way to support farmers during the farm crisis in the 80’s when farmers were committing suicide in record numbers.

Fred comes from Iowa State (thx for that btw🥰) and we both abhore the fake ag school in the eastern half of Iowa.
I will always root Iowa state if not against Nebraska. In every sport, thems decent Iowans.
