The EU migration pact is not something Ireland should be opting into. It will go from bad to worse. The most vulnerable people of all will be those rare cases where there is a real and present risk to life and their place has been taken by a long-line of fakers.

Mayo TD Paul Lawless has criticised the EU Migration Pact and called for the new Dáil to vote on it before it takes effect at the end of June. The Aontú TD, who was not in the previous parliament, said the pact was passed in 2024 by a narrow margin of just seven votes. He argued that the newly elected Dáil should have the chance to debate and vote on the agreement, which he believes has major implications for migration policy, national sovereignty, and public services. Lawless stated that while a referendum would be ideal, the current Dáil must at minimum be allowed to reconsider the pact. “The Dáil, not the EU, should set our migration rules,” he said. “The pact infringes on our sovereignty.” He raised concerns about potential obligations on Ireland to accept more migrants or provide funding, uncertain costs to the State, and pressures on housing, healthcare, and other services — particularly given Ireland’s economic profile. He also called for greater flexibility on other EU commitments, such as climate targets. Lawless concluded that newly elected TDs should be given a say before the pact comes into force.

@Conor1960 @declanganley You don’t experience it in leafy suburbs where you lawyer up at mention of IPAs. All you D4 heads claim to love diversity, until someone suggests a centre, then NIMBY kicks in. “All r welcome”, except here. Prick

@Conor1960 @RealIrishNews You support govt in everything, even issues despised by vast majority of people. Now getting major pushback and I’ve seen you literally crumble under attack. Most satisfying spectacle was always only matter of time, prick

@rtenews Great news. I think she had fertility issues also so this is great for her. Being a mother shouldn't stop you being a politician.

@Conor1960 @declanganley What sort of a stupid response is that. Nothing to do with imagination for us that live in the real world. I hope to God at some stage you get a serious taste of diversity and inclusion visited upon you and that might alter your smug arroganct condescension. Nothing but a cunt
