You don't need to be born yesterday to have bad analysis.

@daReal_teebee @jamesbenge I wasn’t born yesterday, I know about setting traps ffs. This picture repeated itself 2nd half. City press with 4 against 2. That gives a numerical advantage beyond the press. If Hincapie can’t receive the ball here (he can) and build the play he shouldn’t be in an Arsenal shirt.

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge Players ask for passes when they're not positioned well all the time. Your mids were asking for passes all game! If the pass was on like you think then Kepa really isn't the one to blame, it should be Arteta. He could have instructed not just Kepa but the CBs to do it. He didn't

@daReal_teebee @jamesbenge Jesus wept, you haven’t a clue. If you think a Premier League player can’t receive the ball in that situation I can’t help you. There’s plenty of clips of both Hincapie and White asking for the ball. Kepa just didn’t have the bottle to try the pass. Summed up his performance.

In the second half, Arsenal failed to complete a progressive pass -- one that advances the ball 10+ yards outside the back 40 yards of the pitch -- until the 71st minute.

@Ad_Victoriam25 Lol, this is social media not a board of experts. The "popular" opinion on here is usually the clueless one.

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge At anfield first half for example, you had Calafiori free and kept finding after Salah presses narrow. Second half Slot instructs Szoboszlai to jump on him and that ended all your progression in the second half. It's a very common tactic. Maresca used a similar thing on liverpool

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge You can literally see the two city midfielders who are ready to jump in the picture not to mention the full back behind. If you knew about traps you wouldn't be arguing still. There are moments where O'Reilly leaves him man to press the FB but the pass never came.

I watched the first half. You weren't. You had 10 mins where you went long to Gyokeres and Havertz where you might gave got something. After that they both lost the rest of their duels.
Emzel@Emzyl_

All these long epistles like Pep did anything special is too funny, Arsenal were by far the better in the first half, City the better team in the second half, we had our chance and didn't take it, City took their chances when they were on top, that's all there is to, rest

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge They weren't even pressing your CBs or your keeper. 4 attackers sat narrow to block passes to mids. So you had more than enough time to clip it to your FB. So why didn't they? Gabriel can't? Saliba can't? Kepa can't? Or they're very much aware of the danger you don't understand?

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge Not rubbish, just a very common tactic. Wide positions are easiest to press bcs of the touchline. It was on because they left it on for a purpose. Semenyo and Doku were intentionally narrow to give you that passing option for a reason!

@Ad_Victoriam25 @jamesbenge They weren't unmarked. That's a bait for a press trap. The city FB were ready to jump on them the moment the ball is played to them.

@jamesbenge When City refused to jump Kepa on the press both our fullbacks were actually unmarked on the flanks. Arteta didn’t identify it and Kepa didn’t try the chip pass over the City front line once. It was an obvious out ball. Other than that our lack of composure 2nd half was woeful.

@hellomofo123 @EBL2017 Wouldn't change anything. The Point wasn't to press the CBs. it was to let the have the ball and block passes into midfield. Dropping a fb makes it easier to press them if they wanted to (They didn't), precisely why arsenal prefers the FBs high in build up.

@EBL2017 I don’t understand why he didn’t tell Saliba to sit narrower to Kepa, White drop back to make a line of 3 and Zubi and Rice sit in the pockets in between the lines. Same for the other side of the keeper had the ball on the left of the box. That way you always have a 3v2.

@slynyanful Well it looks that way. But it's 9 points, 1 game in hand and they have to play city again with 7 more games to go. If city wins 3 games in a row the pressure could get to them.

From experience of having my team compete against them for titles. I promise you the league match at the Etihad will be worse. If you are not clear winners by then, you are in for a wild match.
EBL@EBL2017

Call me crazy, but that’s not the worst possible outcome for Arsenal. Why? City were dominant, so it’s highly likely they will use similar tactics in the league game. They were caught off guard tactically with Pep’s changes today. In the league, Arsenal won’t be so surprised.
