Wer wird eine teure Kupfermine bauen, wenn der Gesetzgeber bei hohen Kupferpreisen sofort eine Sondersteuer einführt?

@christianmiele Ein Übergewinn liegt i.d.R. dort vor, wo Aktienkurse von Unternehmen durch die Decke gehen, wenn eigentlich eine Krise herrscht. Im Kapitalmarkt werden Gewinnerwartungen gespiegelt.
Der Aktienkurs von OMV (Tankstellen- und Raffinerebetreiber in 🇦🇹 und Bayern) zeigt das Phänomen

Es geht um die Anreize: eine Abschaffung des Solidaritätszuschlags ist politisch schwierig, weil es die Einnahmen reduziert - bei ohnehin schon nicht ausfinanzierten Haushalt. Die Abschaffung der Mietpreisbremse ist schwierig, weil es für die Wähler extrem ärgerlich scheint. Was sollte man gegen die CDU hindern, einer Verlängerung des Tempolimits nicht zuzustimmen, wenn sie doch weiß, dass ihre Zähne alle dagegen sind? Das ist doch absolut glaubwürdig, dass sie nicht verlängern würde. Ist das nicht einleuchtend? Oder glauben Sie, die CDU will heimlich ein Tempolimit…. Dann wäre ihre Position verständlich.

For the Trump administration to understand: The Strait of Hormuz is NOT OPEN. The UAE does not and will NEVER accept the Islamic regime in Iran imposing CONDITIONS on access. The UAE is not Britain or the EU. It does not accept any terrorist actor restricting freedom of navigation. As for Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia negotiating to keep the regime afloat, understand this: no state has a legitimate right to decide who may pass and under what terms. That is international law, not a bargaining chip.
Shame on United Kingdom, NATO, European Union, and anyone who tolerates this regime’s terrorism and piracy.

Viktor Orbán wird morgen wohl abgewählt. Er hat mE vieles gut gemacht, zB seine Migrationspolitik, anderes mE schlecht gemacht, zB seine Positionierung in Bezug auf Russland.
So oder so, auch sein Beispiel zeigt, dass kein Regierungschef mehr als zehn Jahre im Amt sein sollte.

@gei_matthias @mawilms @stagerbn Nein, das stimmt nicht. Tisza/Magyar wollen Ungarn fest in der EU verankern und die blockierten EU Milliarden für Investitionen freibekommen. Das will auch die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung, kommt in allen Umfragen klar heraus.

@stagerbn Vieles gut gemacht? Das Land war Anfang der 00er Jahre in Top 3 Position in der EU bei Produktivitätswachstum, Bildung und BIP Wachstum. Nach 16 Jahren Orbán ist es nun in den Top 3 der höchsten Inflation, höchsten Korruption und einer dahinsiechenden Wirtschaft.

Russia must be held accountable for its war - this is a matter of justice and international order. However, in the longer term, it is not in the European Union’s interest to cultivate permanent hostility at its borders.
Europe’s stability has always depended not only on deterrence, but also on its capacity to transform adversaries into partners over time. A new generation of Russians will emerge, and they must come to understand Europe not through confrontation, but through cooperation, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
This may seem idealistic in the current context, yet it remains a necessary horizon. Lasting peace cannot be built solely on punishment or military logic.
For this reason, I believe that the vision currently proposed for Europe risks entrenching division rather than fostering a sustainable peace.

If the United States truly thinks about withdrawing from NATO, then European security will be based solely on the European Union. But not in its current form. I think that the EU is in a situation where it needs more countries. The UK, Ukraine, Türkiye, and Norway. These are four strong countries, which are part of Europe. Together, the UK, Ukraine, and Türkiye have armies that are stronger than Russia's army. Without Ukraine and Türkiye, Europe can’t match Russia. With the four countries on board you can wrest control of the seas, have secure skies and the largest land forces. It’s not about offense, because when Russia makes the decision to have an army of 2.5 million people by 2030, Europe has to think about security and how to preserve its independence. The UK once was a member of the EU. There are concerns about agriculture when it comes to Türkiye. But you can manage all of this if you have a really great economy. But security comes first, economy second. Not vice versa. From an interview on The Rest Is Politics podcast (5/5).

Es alleine anhand des BIP festzumachen, ob man reich oder arm ist, ist Nonsens. Ich bin gerade in den USA und vieles ist einfach sehr teuer. Für ein schönes BBQ zahlt man gerne mal 75$ für eine Person. Somit ist natürlich das BIP höher. Auch, wenn man natürlich mehr verdient.
