@CBCNews why is the front page of the app showing me articles from years ago without any indication of their age? The “Porter” article is from 2024 and the one below it is from 2023, but it gives the impression that these are new or recent incidents. That seems irresponsible.

@songmu Sorry to ping you outside of Github, but... are you able to review this PR? github.com/tcnksm/ghr/pul… We like GHR but we're getting support issues asking why v3.27.4 is 'latest' instead of v3.28.0, etc. Would be nice to have this feature.

@donkeys_mh @MohapatraHemant Intel isn't much of a factor, but history has shown how quickly things have changed in the past. I would be iffy about the merge just because nvidia's corporate culture of taking advantage of users and distributors could pollute AMD and make for worse business behaviour.

@MohapatraHemant If they would merge we would have a monopoly that controls the entire gpu market, as Intel isn't much of a factor. Monopolies are always dangerous, I prefer competition.

So now that Nvidia has far outstripped the market cap of AMD and Intel, I thought this would be a fun story to tell. I spent 6+yrs @ AMD engg in mid to late 2000s helping design the CPU/APU/GPUs that we see today. Back then it was unimaginable for AMD to beat Intel in market-cap (we did in 2020!) and for Nvidia to beat both! In fact, AMD almost bought Nvidia but Jensen wasn’t ready to sell unless he replace Hector Ruiz of AMD as the CEO of the joint company. The world would have looked very different had that happened. Here’s the inside scoop of how & why AMD saw the GPU oppty, lost it, and then won it back in the backdrop of Nvidia’s far more insane trajectory, & lessons I still carry from those heady days:

@standaloneSA I once decided to back port ffmpeg to Ubuntu 22.04. It took two days of getting, compiling, and patching Ubuntu packages and build systems to make it work. By the end I had forgotten what I wanted it for.

Reddit is just digging the hole deeper and deeper. They are essentially threatening moderators of subreddits that are blacking out indefinitely that they will be removed.

@DuckDuckGo I tried to restrict search results to pages from the last month. Top result was from 2021; second, from 2022. After that, results from the last month. Why? I almost gave up and went to Google instead.
