We receive numerous inquiries about E-Scooters, E-Bikes etc. Micromobility refers to "small, lightweight, low-speed vehicles" that offer "flexible, eco-friendly, and congestion-reducing alternatives to cars." Here is an infographic to help with the rules as we strive to balance education and enforcement. #RoadSafety #UrbanMobility

@JohnMHillier @MattIlich That's correct. Tinted front windows create safety challenges for the driver and peds/cyclists etc. It's difficult to know if the driver has seen you if you're unable to see their face. Harder to see through tinted windows in the dark for the driver too.

@MattIlich @VPDTrafficUnit Rear tinted windows are fine in BC. What isn’t is tint on the front driver and passenger windows and especially when using dark tint on the front vehicle window 🤔

3100 E. Broadway can see some high speeds most days, but 99 in a 50 km/h zone is just simply unsafe. It will cost you $368 + 7-day impound + tow and storage fees and points. #WeAreOutThere #NoNeedForSpeed

This one wasn't quite as expensive, but just as dangerous doing 107 in a 50 zone. $368 for Excessive Speed, 7-day impound, towing fees etc. #WeAreOutThere

Yes, it's beautiful BC weather, but 153 km/h on the Viaduct is over the top and dangerous...and expensive. $598 for no insurance, $368 for excessive speed, tow fees and impound charges etc. #DriveSafe

Some points: If you must have your cell phone while driving, it must be on a mount. if your phone is mounted and you have Bluetooth operating and you receive a call, you may press it once to answer the call and you may press it a second time to hang up, but that is the only contact allowed. It cannot be mounted to watch videos. Class 7 (learners and new drivers) are not allowed to use electronic devices at all, even hands-free. #LeaveYourPhoneAlone #EyesFwdBC

We're supporting education/enforcement on Distracted Driving this month, but couldn't ignore this Excessive Speeder on SE Marine Drive. 110 km/h in a 50 zone! #SpeedKills

Every March, @VancouverPD supports the provincial campaign to enhance safety by educating drivers and enforcing Distracted Driving laws. We could be standing right beside you at a stop light/sign or pull up alongside you or have spotters midblock. Best to just #LeaveYourPhoneAlone #EyesFwdBC

Our @VancouverPD CVT found this today of a 5-ton truck. It is the drag link connection to the control arm and should have 1/8 inch play at most. Being this loose could cause complete and immediate loss of steering of this commercial vehicle. Taken OOS and towed from the scene. #DriveSafe #WeAreOutThere

Here's one you don't see often...this driver stopped on Knight Street at 7:36 a.m. doing 90 in a 50 zone. Not enough for excessive speed, so ticketed and allowed to continue to child's sport activity. But, 12 mins later, stopped again for doing 81 on Terminal Ave. by different Enforcement member. Go figure! #WeAreOutThere #SpeedMaims
