A casual labourer in Kanungu is on the run after allegedly chopping off his employer’s hand following a dispute over charcoal sales.
The suspect, identified as Brain, had been hired to burn charcoal belonging to his boss, Eriabu Aineplani, a resident of Omukibaare Village in Kayungwe Sub-county. It is alleged that Brain had been secretly selling part of the charcoal without his employer’s knowledge.
When Aineplani confronted him over the alleged theft, a confrontation ensued, during which Brain reportedly grabbed a panga and cut off his boss’s hand.

Let's talk about these photos of Kitara FC players (No. 15, 25, 4 and No. 6) stepping off the bus in full club gear, they can make you feel the squad energy and focus.
Yet the open sandals and clogs tell a different story. In professional football, matchday arrivals are part of the spectacle. They project discipline, unity, and pride in the badge. When players show up looking too casual, it undercuts the “Royals” brand and the hard work the club is putting in with sponsorships and performances.
Players today are brands too and branding themselves the right way matters a lot. Their image affects personal endorsement opportunities, the club’s sponsor appeal, and the overall perception of the Uganda Premier League. In a league fighting for more commercialization and respect, these small presentation gaps matter.
Kitara has made impressive strides recently with building a strong fan base, making an effort to get a permanent home, producing good players that have also been called upon to serve on the National Team among others. Fixing simple things like team arrival standard is an easy win that can help turn players into true local stars and elevate the entire UPL image.
Dear Royals and UPL fans ,do you agree this is worth addressing? Or is it just “our culture”?
Let’s discuss constructively.

So turns out @mtnug business internet (Wakanet fibre) is not unlimited as advertised?
They cut us off abruptly days after we renewed our 500Mbps package. We weren’t even fully utilizing it.
Then days later, this email. Why survey us, take us on, then cut us off without notice?
A Ugandan living in Texas visited Uganda to see his family members and to spend the Easter holiday with them. His younger brother picked him up at the airport with his SUV and drove him straight to his house in a city surbub.
When he entered the house, he noticed the aesthetics of the building so he decided to ask his younger brother if he’s the one who owns the house. His younger brother answered in the affirmative.
While he wasn’t angry nor jealous of his younger brother, he mentioned that as at January 2025, his younger brother was still demanding money from him. As per the elder brother (assumed father) he is, he saw taking care of his younger ones as his primary responsibility.
He didn’t want them to lack anything, so he sent money every single time his brother requested for financial support.Unknown to him, his younger brother in Uganda is living the lifestyle he can only imagine.
In Texas, he doesn’t live in such an exquisite house nor does he drive an expensive SUV.Even here in Uganda he doesn’t own a house. His visit to Uganda was an eye-opener for him.
He didn’t share this story because he was jealous of younger brother but because he saw it as a mistake almost everyone living in the diaspora is making. They live their life for others. They forget to live for themselves even for a split second. While everyone is busy building their personal economy, they are taking multiple shifts under harsh weather conditions just to fund someone’s lifestyle back home.
If you live in the diaspora and you are reading this, I’m not asking you to discontinue paying black tax. You know your family better. I want you to do with it wisdom. As you do for them, do for yourself. Aggressively invest in real estate both in Uganda and in the country where you live. If you can’t buy a physical structure over there.
And back home, reach out to Hajji Bakaluba as he's recommended by most people to be trust worth of which I have no proof of so be sure first and he will help you buy a property (empty land or house) here in the country.
As you are doing for the family, be doing for yourself too. Kindly Note, pictures attached below are not the real house and SUV so they don't not relate to the story just Incase the owner lands on this story.
Thank you.
Let me tell you the real story of doing business in Uganda. Last November 2025, we set up a nice estate in Mukono. Plots ready, titles in order, everything clean. We thought, "This one will move fast." 4 months later... it is still sitting there like a mugole waiting for a man!

Observation: Over 54% of Uganda’s artists depend on live performances as their primary source of income. For years, Uganda led the East African region in hosting frequent, multi artist events especially during peak seasons like Easter and Christmas. Back then a single artist could perform at up to seven shows in one day, driven by high demand and a vibrant events ecosystem.
But this Easter weekend tells a different story.
There are noticeably fewer concerts and large scale events happening across the country. This isn’t just a seasonal dip it raises a bigger question about the health of Uganda’s live music economy.
If live shows have been the backbone of ug artists earnings, what does this decline mean for the music industry, URA, Tourism, Beverage companies(Beer and soda), media and other beneficiaries from these live events. What really happened? where do we go from here?
