Having the passenger hvac controls that far away from the driver is really dumb. What if the passenger is a vegetable from the shoulders down. Driver can’t do shit for them during split controls. There is no reason to eve have it that far. While I personally rarely ever touch the passenger HVAC, there are still times that I do.

@JamesMcPherson Maybe come for a drive with me on my commute home when FSD throws up red hands due to actual sun glare.

@dr__dwayne I’m certainly laughing. Oh wise one who must have been in my right seat, please enlighten me, I don’t know what I saw with my own two eyes.

Tesla has really solved the sun glare problem that everyone told me would be impossible without HW5. I’m completely blinded myself in this photo. FSD handling it is much safer.

@FrunkToTrunk It's crazy that according to Tesla's own data, that Autopilot is much safer than FSD.

Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised is changing daily commutes and road trips. With 8.2 billion miles of data, it handles turns and traffic, requiring only occasional supervision. It's also found to be 8-10x less frequent in accidents than normal cars.

@MissJilianne @alex_avoigt So true. Even the same car in the same situation can act in a very different way.

No it’s not. As someone who has demonstrated FSD for several years LIVE, here on 𝕏, we know different vehicles perform differently. JC is in a Model 3 and the crash was in a Cybertruck. Even the same vehicle can perform differently at the same location due to different variables.

I've talked with many people who have been there, living with these families. Not to mention the fact, that if you say a single bad thing about the government, you might end up in jail or even worse. You can say I'm making it up, but I have no interest in believing their pathetic propaganda. You guys are falling for this hard.

Of course none of the examples that you mentioned are actually the ones that were asking.. The question is whether or not any of these new versions that are going to come out in the next couple weeks or months are going to be on time or remotely as good as they need to be. As for a human driving is getting better, yes...

I'm hoping that if my hypothesis is correct that they thought 14.2 would be good enough for unsupervised at scale but it wasn't, I'm hoping the delay between 14.2 and 14.3 is them just training the shit out of 14.3.. Getting it even better than it would have been just so it's ready and aligned with the cybercab.

@DBurkland @pbeisel It’s in testing right now. Wide release in a few weeks.

@niccruzpatane I suppose that is similar to Tesla implementing matrix headlights and the fanboys raving about it as some ground breaking tech, even though it had been in legacy brands for years prior.

Tesla implemented a key card backup almost 10 years ago. Toyota is just implementing it now with their new RAV4. In legacy auto fashion, they treat it as some revolutionary new technology. 😂

@niccruzpatane This is so dumb. The electric Rolls-Royce is a phenomenal car, I’ve ridden in it several times. I think the lack of FSD is the real issue. You can’t have a $300,000 EV requiring a human driver when a $40,000 Tesla model Y drives itself.

Both Rolls-Royce and Bentley are abandoning their EV ambitions. Bentley is scrapping the development of four new EVs scheduled to release by 2035. Rolls-Royce has quietly backed away from its plan to go fully electric by 2030. Legacy auto is backtracking at every angle.

@betastuff1999 @niccruzpatane They won't make money for a very long time. They have nearly been in the robotaxi game for 12 months and can't seem to extend their unsupervised taxis out of a few streets in downtown Austin. Tesla is cooked.

@BraydonSnoddy @MissJilianne The thing a lot of people don't get is you, the human supervising, is the redundancy. When you are removed as the redundancy, the car needs to be many times more confident & assured of every maneuver it makes. There is a huge gap between supervised and unsupervised.

@MissJilianne I have not had to intervene for a single safety issue in the last 3k miles of FSD usage. I have however needed to intervene nearly every day for stupid Google Maps issues. I guess that’s a testament to FSD safety, but really a hit for teslas maps.🫠

The reason Tesla’s Full Self-Driving can go thousands of miles between reported accidents is because the human supervisor intervenes when the system makes critical errors.

We – design the chips & hardware – make the cars w/ said hardware – collect real-world data at scale – train the real-world AI model – built (& continue to expand) the massive supercomputer cluster that trains it – deploy AI directly to millions of robots on wheels All that is shared with @Tesla_Optimus for broader applications in both the physical & digital world

@xdNiBoR @ThinkFinance999 The data is clear. Autopilot has 7.5m miles before an accident, FSS has only 5.3m AP is safer than FSD.

Note: Tesla counts all accidents with FSD enabled up to 5 seconds prior to the accident as FSD related accidents. So someone jerking the steering wheel and ending up in the ditch (like we saw in that viral video last year), counts as an FSD crash. (And yes, people claiming that Tesla disengages FSD right before an accident on purpose are completely wrong)
