@FazSteve @LensScientific I agree. I more mean that you are actually the process taking place and not either one of the organisms. It doesn't matter which part of the chain you choose to identify with. The part that is most aware and is now reading this is the one that knows it is a shared destiny.

We do win much of the time; I agree. I just don't generally prefer zero-sum games, even if we have to exist in one (from a net "web of life" point of view). I accept reality as is, but I'm aware we can also wind up on the short end of the stick at some point without warning, and a lot of stuff isn't under our control. And it isn't just about life forms eating one another; our species operates at many levels by stealing resources from each other. At any rate, it is what it is.
