@ImBreckWorsham If an 810 credit score and a full-time job aren't enough to secure shelter, the system is fundamentally broken. The "3x rent" rule is a relic from when rent was affordable. Applying it today just disqualifies the entire working class. It is unsustainable.

A friend of mine with an 810 credit score tried to rent an apartment this weekend. The rent was $2700.00. They required you make 3x the monthly rent to qualify. That's almost $100k a year. The national average salary in the US is $63,795. With his income of $52k he qualifies for a FHA mortgage on a small house, but can't get qualified to rent a 2 bedroom apartment. Make it make sense.

Less than 4% of people retire with $1 million. ~65% of people in the US live paycheck to paycheck. If you think $1 million is not a lot of money? You’re wrong & out of touch.
